Love love love this place! I love that they have gluten free, vegan, and other options for those with different dietary needs. The food was absolutely delicious, very presentable, as well as nice and steamy hot. The servers were friendly, the atmosphere very pleasant. All around wins! I have gone a couple times now prior to writing this review and will definitely be back for more!!

I love the warmth and coziness of this place while also being bright and open. I came here for brunch with my partner and we were blown away at the presentation and how large the portions are. I had the grits bowl with a chicken sausage and it was so well seasoned! He had the chicken and waffles with spiced apple preserves. Definitely pay for the add-ons because it brought the dishes up to the next level. Great value for what you pay!

The vibes were great, Waitstaff was very friendly but not very attentive, our original waitress left halfway through our meal and didn't say anything to us. Even though it was very out of my comfort zone, food was good and drinks were okay. Definitely recommend the fruit fritters!

Commune felt like a rustic, magical Hobbit home that welcomed us with fresh takes on hearty breakfast dishes and beverages. The chai I had (with burnt honey) was like a warm hug, and the ham and jam biscuit was everything I wanted in life at the moment in which I tasted it. The staff displayed utmost hospitality as well. What a great local find!

Really nice small and chill spot. Service is fast and good. The spiked apple cider is good when you dip your fruit in it đ would definitely come back.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious and very filling. I got the biscuit and gravy with a sausage patty on the side. It came with a yummy salad. Loved the dressing. Itâs got to be homemade. Great service when I picked up my food. The dish was a bit pricey, but I really enjoyed the food.

A nice little spot with a cool atmosphere! Love the concept of locally sourced foods and ingredients (within 200 miles)! Only reason this isnât a 5 star was the double stack burger was super dry. Even if it was âsmash burgerâ style, the patties were medium-well at best. Might try again with a different food item.

I absolutely LOVE this place. Farm to table and it didn't disappoint! Our server Madison was vibrant and informative with every question we had about the menu. The housemade peach sorbet soda was refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness. It's really hard to choose what to eat bc every item on the menu is tasty. So we ordered a smorgasbord of things like the Classic with homemade sausage as our choice of meat. The sourdough brioche bun was like no other I ever had in a good way. Almost flaky like a croissant and not overly sweet like a lot of brioche that I've eaten before. A housemade biscuit with homemade jam(blackberry and perfect),side salad with garlic vinaigrette that was perfectly dressed, and a side of crispy potatoes with their hollandaise sauce. We also recieved a complementary housemade blueberry muffin in honor of the art festival going on in the area. Even the muffins was nothing less than perfection đ„°

Dined here Sat morning, cornmeal waffles with chamomile butter is quite good, eggs Benedict were nice with the biscuit being the star, very lovely presentation of burnt honey latte and ginger soda. Parking is easy!
Also we ordered a blueberry muffin and our server forgot to bring it even though we asked a couple times. Normally not a big issue, but for the price of 8 bucks itâs not great. Outdoor dining area is not the best.

This was the best breakfast I've had in Virginia in years. They have so many options, and every single thing we ordered was delicious. Incredibly reasonably priced and service was top-notch! The cornmeal pancakes are like cornbread which was so unique, I wish they had a special syrup to go with it. The sourdough toast is perfection, and the bacon was delicious and such a generous portion. I can't wait to go back. This place is the best!
If you're in the area, I highly recommend going soon to catch their seasonal peanut butter latte because that thing was FANTASTIC!

Facebook suggested I review so I suppose I will. This was my first visit for breakfast after a friend recommended. I was unaware of the restaurants "concept" of local food only and with that, an ever changing and seasonal menu. Im okay with this unique idea, however, some exceptions need to be made in order to provide more beverage selection. We were all offered water of course, but then I asked for orange juice, then apple juice, and finally sweet tea. None of those were available. What kind of breakfast restaurant doesn't offer orange juice? I guess their mimosas are made from ciders or flavored sodas. Ultimately, a regular tea was sweetened with something and actually came out pretty good. I ordered the pancakes with bacon and a side of scrambled eggs. The food itself was excellent! Everyone at my table loved the food. I would rank it at or above any local breakfast spot such as like Egg Bistro or Citrus. Service was fine and attentive. We arrived right they opened at 8am and were seated immediately. The place filled up fast, within 20-30 mins so I would recommend getting there early, as well. I plan to go back sometime but if someone from the restaurant reads this, please consider stocking normal juices and teas. I promise nobody will call out the fact the oranges would not be locally sourced.

Enjoyed a wonderful brunch this weekend of Virginia-sourced foods. Menu was interesting, food was well prepared and delicious, staff were courteous, helpful and knowledgeable - all around great experience. Highly recommend.

I went for breakfast around 9:30 on a Wednesday and it was not crowded at all. I have seen negative reviews about the wait time and the attention of the staff. I can't help but think when you go at a busy time you have to be patient.
The staff was very attentive and helpful with our menu selections. The food was AMAZING and the coffee was so good!
I love the concept of local farm to table and the decor and atmosphere were great! We will be back for sure!!

Clean and organic food! I haven't had a breakfast as great as this in a long time. Wait staff gave superior service, everything was clean and presentable, and it was a pleasure from beginning to end! My new favorite place for breakfast in Virginia Beach! FYI if you are used to a European standard for organics, this is your place.

Me and my husband visited this rustic but modern eatery today and we really enjoyed it, the actual place was cozy and not too big. The waitress Gabrielle immediately let us sit where ever we wanted and brought us water, she was very nice and explained to us what they were about and how they got all of their ingredients locally and fresh. I really liked that concept because me and my husband love to support smaller and local business'. We both ordered a Macchiato and it was of excellent quality, coming from two people who always try different coffee places regularly. My husband ordered a fried chicken sandwich and I got the chicken salad one and they were both delicious! This place was a pleasant experience for us both and I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys locally owned business and little bakery/eatery's that enjoy seasonal foods.

We love this intimate space and the creative decor! The outdoor garden is its own art form! Not only are the entrees tasty, but the commitment to local and regional is beyond comparison! These folks do not disappoint. First Fridays music is also a special treat!

The staff was very friendly. The meal was wonderful. I enjoyed the atmosphere, perfect place for a relaxing Sunday brunch.

Went for the first time yesterday since we were headed to the Oceanfront anyways. My boyfriend picked it out. The food was different but omg it was so delicious! The waitress was helpful about explaining things and never let our water cups empty. The food was definitely not my usual breakfast but I'll definitely be back! I've been wanting to try new things and this was definitely a hit! It was so good we even decided to try dessert. Bread pudding and blueberry ice cream were amazing!!

Was super pumped to try out commune bc I have heard so many good things about it.. legit sat down and basically ignored for about ten mins. When I got my menu we were discussing the food when the bartender/waitress over her shoulder says oh we are out of that. We decided to just not order food and get drinks and a pastry. We watched the guy beside us get an espresso, a drink, and his food all in time we were waiting to get our mimosas. We got our croissants and finished them before the mimosa showed up which btw the champagne had been sitting on the counter for a solid 15-20 before we got our croissant. Mind you the croissant the most burnt croissant I have ever had. Super disappointed as we were planning to do a serious brunching.

We love it at Commune!! We eat there quite a lot and it never disappoints! Ishiah made a delicious cake for my son, Taylor, for his birthday and it was to die for!!! Best cake ever! We really enjoy your farm to table restaurant! Looking forward to heading to the new Norfolk location soon. Congratulations on your new adventures!

Service was prompt, they were friendly, and the food was excellent! Lots of options to choose from-I had the apple buckwheat crepes and they were fantastic! Wish I lived next to this place-I would be a regular!
