Review 1608 Crafthouse - Virginia Beach

A group of us went in an hour before closing. We ordered apps and drinks until closing. The food was top tier, I eat out A LOT. you can check my reviews. This place serves culinary masterpieces. The cocktails were great and strong. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly which is a rare combination in today’s time. I will be back, it’s worth a second and third trip.

Went for the first time as our family Christmas dinner and it was amazing!! Everyone loved their food, it was so good! Food came out nice and hot and all at the same time. Our server did not miss a beat. I think his name was Henry! He was the guy with tats and a backwards cap, he was awesome!! Loved it and will definitely go back!!

The food and service were absolutely spectacular. Great little place for a date night. Will definitely be back soon.

Sorta quiet right after they open, 3:00 p.m. on a Wednesday. The Brown ale is a tad overhopped. The New Zealand IPA is hazy. My wife totally loved the Happy Hour Mushroom Pepperoni Kale Pizza with a great crust. I really dug the Mushroom Lamb Burger, Pea Vines and Curry Aioli. Great attention, fine music, and it hit the spot. What is not to like? Oh, it is thousands of miles from my house. Well, we are looking for an additional retirement property. Not sure about the tax structure in Virginia....

WOW!!!! If you want to eat REAL Food, come to 1608 Crafthouse. The Chef here is cooking up authentic food. Not that processed food, everyone else is serving. The menu options are as fresh as they can get, the drink selection is great too!

Holy smokes, this place is amazing. We shared five dishes (not including dessert) that were all cooked, seasoned, and portioned perfectly. The vibe was chill and the service was super nice. Highly recommend! As an update: the shrimp and grits are a flipping party in a bowl. The squash blossoms are the second-best I've ever had, and the ones that beat 'em were in Rome (so, like, these are the best I've had in the US, for sure). The poutine is so good. Skillet cookie and bread pudding were absolutely beyond.

Great food. I was down in the area for work and stopped by twice. Everything I had was excellent. Very glad to find a place of this caliber so near to where I was staying.

Food was excellent! We got the bone marrow appetizer and it was so good I forgot to take my before picture lol the steak sandwich was good and the burger was amazing, fries and Mac also good! Seafood plate was finished in its entirety lol thank you 1608, we will be back!

Really good spot. Great beer selection, and the food is fantastic. I ordered the lamb and mushroom burger which tasted delightful and fresh, with very well-balanced flavors and textures that complemented each other quite nicely. It's like someone put a lot of thought into creating this menu for a well-rounded meal that tastes good but not overly processed or salty. The actual place was laid-back and unpretentious, which really made the whole evening enjoyable. Would return.

Finally had a chance to come here.. was closed a couple times for the superbowl and an Employee Appreciation Day.. for a place to close down to appreciate their employees tells me a lot of great things without having to experience anything yet.. I ordered the ribeye.. medium rare and it was cooked to perfection!! Perfectly juicy and every area of the ribeye was evenly red.. the seasoning was just right and the saltiness from the fries paired excellently well.. the fries were just the right crisp as well!! I could honestly use more fries with my steak but that's because I love food.. wifey ordered the Kalua pork.. so tender and flavored very well.. her one thing for the dish is that it could've had a slightly bigger portion of the rice.. but otherwise no complaint about.. (yes.. we love our carbs!!).. our kiddo got the Mac and Cheese with fries and she said it was one if the best Mac and cheeses she had.. didn't even want to share a bite!! Our close friend had ordered one of their burgers and it's definitely in their top 10.. I had the beer flight and the Purple Drank.. Best mead I've had!! Also brought a Growler home.. but will come back for the bigger Growler (they were out.. and I collect Growlers).. and try other dishes.. seems their menu rotates every so often since their menus have a date on the top.. We also ate outside.. was a bit chilly and there was an issue with the heat lamp.. also would advise getting another one for full coverage of the outside seating area.. but otherwise the hit food kept us warm.. hopefully next time there is room inside just to get a proper feel for 1608..

My Drink was not good. But their steak was delicious and their BLT sandwhich was very dry. But they do make a delicious snack tray. We also love their natural soda “cola”.

Omg so delicious!! Service by Liz was magnificent, the atmosphere and cuisine were just top notch. I recommend the Ribeye and blacked flounder.

Great experience, great food, and awesome staff. Family friendly and the best menu from burgers to surf and turf. Also, the craft beer selection is on point.

Good Service! The giant pretzel and the charcuterie board were good and a great value. The peach mojito was delicious and refreshing. Only took off a star for the amount of flies in the building and having to spend most of our time shooing them away from our food. With adult beverages for two, and the two large appetizers, our total was around $60. I’d come back here with friends.

I have to applaud the creativity and flavors presented at this restaurant. I ordered a chicken and French toast entree with bourbon and strawberry jam (I believe?) and it was absolutely delicious. The portion was huge, they offered butter and syrup, and kept the drinks flowing as well. My friends got the eggs Benedict and shrimp and sausage omelet and loved theirs as well (unfortunately didn’t get a picture of theirs). I am not a drinker so I can’t say how the alcohol was, but the food was all great. This restaurant will definitely be on our must-visit list every time we are in the area!

The food was amazing! I got the big a$$ pretzel and the brunch pizza. The pretzel was HUGE and the pizza was very good! The waitress was also very nice and very attentive, definitely recommend!!

This place has only been open for a few years but is worth the stop, whether you are local or out of town. My wife and I had brunch here and it was excellent. The bloody Mary's are very tasty and range from tart and sweet to spicy and flavorful. The adult beverages are reasonably priced and offered daily. The food is well proportioned, tasty and has an extra care to it that makes it worth the trip. I reccomend this place for the great food, attention to detail, farm to table and ideally priced menu.

Love this place. Have not had a bad meal! Portions are generous and plated very well. Great variety with the weekly specials along with the regular menu items. French fries are on point along with the bacon cheeseburger. I try something new every time. Highly recommend this place to eat. #supportlocalvb

These people know their stuff! Great staff, awesome service. Beer list is exceptional. Food never disappoints. Lamb Burger is my favorite. Our waiter knew everything about everything on the menu. Asked him several questions about menu items and was very prompt and knowledgeable in explaining each dish. Highly recommend eating here. You will not regret it. I'm a customer for life.

My husband and I ate dinner here tonight, and we were very pleased! Our server, Tina, was excellent. We had three beers between the two of us -- all of which were very good. ($2 off all local beers during happy hour!) We shared the house-made chicharones appetizer. Husband ordered the ribeye with fries. I had the bacon cheeseburger and added a fried egg on top. Every bite was superb! I would 100% recommend 1608 to friends! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We've almost eaten our way through the menu and haven't had anything but perfection every time. Beer selection is top notch! Also extremely dog friendly on their covered patio! Brought our two absurdly large mastiffs and I think the entire staff rotated through to come great them. Love love love this place!

I live down the street and I am a complete foodie. This is my favorite place on shore drive. I often find myself elsewhere drinking with friends and I tell them I'm going home but I go to 1608. I like martinis and I love the food. I have literally eaten here 100 times, maybe more. Every time it is amazing. Some places are great one night, then ok the next, they are on point every night here. Great food and great service every time. Never disappointed. Everything about the place is amazing. If they were still open I would go back for second dinner. The softshell crabs tonight were delicous and done perfectly. They take pride in their work.

Our favorite place. Great staff, great food! Kevin does an incredible job as chef and owner. It's a locals place but folks purposely stop by on their way down the Eastern Shore.

Had the Farmhouse cosmo �, Mo Mac Pineapple beer � and the Charcuterie Plate Cured Meats, Edwards Surryano Ham, Mountain View Farms Cheese, Honey, Pickled Carrots & Toasted Bread with my hubby. It was yummy and perfect. Brittany was a busy waitress, manning the bar and tables. She was great. Will be going back for #vbrw2018. That menu looks so yummy.

Always great food, great service and good company. The challenge is always trying to decide what to have. Everything is always great!! One of the places you are tempted to keep as secret for yourself and really good friends. No matter where you live in Tidewater well worth the drive. The only downside is very easy to get addicted to 1608

Ate here with friends on Friday night. We started to go to another restaurant nearby, but they had a 45 minute wait. We are so happy that we decided to try 1608! No wait and excellent service. Me and two of my friends ordered bacon burgers. It was one of the best I have ever had and my friend was still raving about it the next day! My other friends were very happy with their choices too. Loved the giant pretzel we ordered as an appetizer. It was cooked perfectly, light on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Can't wait to go back again.

Took my Sailor son out for dinner before deployment. Best meal we’ve had in a long time. He has eaten here a few times and says it’s always good. Displayed perfect as well. Wish I lived closer but Alabama is a long way to drive for a pork taco. Lol. Thanks for the great service.

Great beer selection, and good burgers too. Just a little bit on the pricy side with their food ... but we have to get back for their brunch!

The burger was amazing, the bartender was generously kind with my indecisiveness about which beer to order! Worst part of my first visit - everything looked good on the menu and i had to choose just one! I’ll be back!

Our first time eating at 1608. Our waiter was excellent he went through the menu and his choices of entrees was delicious! The food was outstanding!
