I can only say we missed dinner but made sure to catch breakfast before checking out. It connected to the hotel. Nice restaurant, Bourbon rum French toasts. If you like rum, walnuts, and sweets, this is for you. Me, it sounds good; I like French toast and am willing to try any variety. But this was a robust taste of rum. The toast was excellent. I just separated it. The husband had a veggie omelet that tasted fresh. The view was beautiful, and the decor was lovely.

Highly recommend Mahi's! We happened to be staying at the DoubleTree hotel where the restaurant is located so it was a convenient option for lunch. Stopped by on a Tuesday and the place was completely empty! Perfect for us, we got the best seating outside where we could enjoy the beautiful beach views.
Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. She came to check on us when needed but not too much, which we prefer.
My husband and I shared their lobster grilled cheese and the boardwalk fries. Both items were delicious! I'm not a huge fan of seafood but my husband is and he liked the lobster. It's also a very cheesy grilled cheese which he loved. A bit pricey ($28) for a sandwich but that's to be expected in a tourist area. The boardwalk fries were pretty good, I do wish they had a bit more topping but next time I'm sure we can ask for extra.
Overall we had a good experience, good service and delicious food! Also highly recommend sitting outside if you choose to dine here, the views of the beach are gorgeous!

Absolutely love this place! The Florida Orange roll is definitely among top 10 sushi rolls I’ve ever had. Same goes for the calamari. All food was exceptionally delicious. Cocktails were wonderful, and the option to add 50mg of CBD was refreshing and perfect way to relax while sitting with a beautiful boardwalk view
Customer service was above and beyond helpful! We asked for recommendations and the guy serving us clearly knew the menu like the back of his hand- very good insider into all of the available options.

Visited July 1st. The ambiance was very clean and fresh. There was no wait. We ordered a lot of different options from the menu. Unfortunately our sushi did have hair in it but they remade it. It was delicious nevertheless. Our meals were good as well. I would recommend and I will be back to try other options. There also was a cover band performing outside which was a nice touch.

We come to Virginia Beach every year and we eat here every year! The potstickers were amazing, all the sushi is so good! We got a volcano roll, Virginia Beach roll, and some Philly rolls and they were all so good! We will be back again next year! Great service and atmosphere!

We had the fish tacos (blackened mahi) and parmesean truffle fries. They were some of the best tacos I have eaten. The service was A+, and the atmosphere was extremely comfortable, with a view of the ocean. If you are in the area, I recommend giving them a try. It's not the cheapest but well worth it.

I had the best experience this was my first time here. I came in from Baltimore and walked there for dinner and when I say the food was amazing , it was amazing. The bar tender knows how to make strong drinks , the ordered the chicken & shrimp pasta it was beyond delicious. Now the grab soup Omg Devine I had a great time the night shift manager was great with my issues and made sure everything was perfect. If you in town plzzzzz go here you will not be disappointed.

To start we had a spicy tuna roll and pot stickers. For our meals we had the lobster grilled cheese and the Faroe island salmon. Some recent reviews talk poorly of the sushi, but we had no problems.

Even though I've lived in Virginia Beach for over 20 years, this is the first time for me to go here. I ordered the Lobster Grilled Cheese Sandwich. I fell in love with it upon the first bite. Sandwich was cheesy and each bite was filled with lobster meat. The portion was a good size as well. I wasn't a big fan of the tomatoe bisc. It tasted bland to me. The fries were served hot and had a nice crunch in every bite. I do recommend this place if you're ever in Virginia.

I visited this place Years ago, when they had first opened. I think I was there opening night and I was not impressed. They promoted this place to be type of an upscale restaurant, but the food? Did not support that. The decor and the service was fine and supported the upscale feel. But they haven't gotten the food to the point where it was edible, to say the least. Fast forward to 2023. We tried it again for breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised. The breakfast was very good, the service was excellent. The decor pretty much the same. Classy, but not overdone. Clean, but subtle. We have not tried dinner or lunch yet, but If breakfast is any indication of the food and its quality, I'm pretty sure we're gonna like lunch and dinner. I'm glad they have finally got their act together. For the prices they charge for the food in this place it's a welcome sign.

Thanksgiving day 2023 is the first time we have been to Mahi's since its remodel. We were very impressed with the food and the service. There was a special menu for Thanksgiving day, and our party had several special needs that the staff accommodated extremely professionally. Thanks to all, from the parking valets to the hostess to the servers and bartenders to the kitchen staff. Every single item that was served was delicious. Thank you so much for offering this meal today, which allowed us to celebrate with those who are no longer able to live at home.

James River Oysters No No!!!!. They are serving James river oysters harvested from the polluted bottom of the James and then taken to another body of water and deposited for 14 days to "cleanse themselves" then 're-harvested for commercial sale. Do not eat them!!!

I ordered take-out from here-the mahi burger & fries w/ a desert. The burger was good, the cheesecake was also good! What I did not like was the automatic tip I was charged! $4.00 surcharge for takeout...not delivery, not sit down & serve BUT take out! I will not be back-oh n by the way the burger was only 9.99!

Brunch. We were not the only patrons bewildered by the "brunch" menu that starts at 11 am, as opposed to the "breakfast" menu they we viewed on line. Contrary to common practice the after 11 am menu is very limited and dissapointed all of us. Also there was a bloody mary bar but our waiter did not mention that when we ordered of bloody mary's. Even the hostess was confused by the menu change.

Ate there in september after menu change months ago. Preferred previous menu, paticularly the tuna. Not available now with menu change. Tryed the previously free hushpuppys but now 6 dollars, i cannot recommend them any longer. Tryed she crab soup it was weak unfortunately. My wife had the scallops and liked them but not with sauce provided. The salmon was good but not with the miso sauce provided. I had linguini n clam sauce and it was great. We loved this place previously but probably will not return due to the menu changes, this was a favorite of ours.

My husband and I went for our first anniversary. We told them this on the phone and told them we would wait a little longer for a window seat. They told us to come in after an hour. After we got there we waited another hour. After finally being seated they out in front of the credit card and drink station for the patio. Not a view worthy of two hours. <br/>Our waiter was good. The sushi was bad and not worth the price. The fish was decent and the poached lobster was good but barley any lobster for +30 bucks. Overall, this restaurant was mediocre at best but expensive so if you are looking for the fancy experience, go somewhere else.

My boyfriend and I came down for the week. This was our favorite restaurant. The wait wasn't too long, our server was amazing. He got the fried crab cake sandwich with onion rings and I got the broiled crab cake sandwich with asparagus. We both got mojitos and the crab dip app. We loved EVERYTHING. Highly suggest this place!

GREAT FOOD & SERVICE Do not let bad review sway you, this place is great. I have been down to visit a few times over the past 6 years. Every time I would take my family which includes 3 small children and they always love it. After checking reviews this year I almost chose another place to go based on the bad reviews I have seen here, but being a loyal kind of guy I gave them my business again. I am very glad I did, the service was some of the best I have ever had and the food was great. From the sushi, & the longline platter to the calamari it was all excellent. I will continue to give them my business every time I am in the area. They treated my family great.

Horrible service. Even after going over the order twice, the meals arrived not as ordered. The server never offered an apology or a discount, nor did she come by to check on us. The music is way too loud. Food is OK and too expensive. We ordered scallops, broiled fish and the BBQ shrimp. No drinks or dessert. The bill was $80. Not worth the 40 minute wait. The orange crushes are not good and gave me a migraine. The call ahead card they provide to call ahead- no one picks up the phone. Go to Watermans on 5th street instead.

Been to mahi mahs many times...always come during thanksgiving or Christmas. Our server Sean was fabulous, attentive but not overly so. He made suggestions and managed our experience perfectly. Oysters and clams were right on as usual....I think the chicken wings are good but the hubby (chicken wing critic) thought the needed to be much crispier since they were breaded. Sushi was great....we tried two new (for us) ones . The cocktails were perfect...you could actually tell they had liquor in them! It was perfect...the music and ambience was great and thank goodness hubby could watch football with the bowl games on! I love this place especially in the "off season"

AWFUL Service, so-so food. Had family visiting from overseas, they'd never been to Virginia Beach, so we decided to eat at the ocean front. The food wasn't that great, I can get way better crab from Farm Fresh, and the service was slow/delayed, and not very friendly. Despite that, our server decided to take the "mandatory" large party gratuity... There were 4 adults, and 5 kids (under 11) in our party, and we didn't even order for 2 of the smaller kids. I already don't agree with a server being guaranteed a specific tip amount without having to put in effort, so of course I asked her to remove it. She said she couldn't and got very emotional, tearing up. The manager came to the table and began to argue with me and caused a scene in front of other diners. <br/>It was unnecessary, the food wasn't even that good, and charging mandatory gratuity for 4 adults and some kids? Ridiculous! I will never go back!

Mah's lost its touch... They have forgotten the locals and they prey on tourists because having quality consistently is not as important. (tourist typically don't return) It used to be a fun place. One that I would bring out of town guests, year round, however, they lost focus on appreciating the year round local support so I just avoid the place. The food quality has faltered as well. It's truly overrated.

Best at the beach!. We have eaten at many places in VA Beach and Mahi Mah's is always a favorite. Yes, it gets extremely busy, but if you anticipate this and have a little patience, it's not that bad to deal with. I went this weekend and had Helena as a server and she was amazing. She was very attentive to our needs and was spot-on with her menu recommendations. I love their sushi and we started with a roll that had spicy tuna mix on top and was just perfect!The broiled crabcakes and pepper seared tuna were both delicious. My date and I had to share because we both enjoyed the other's dish so much! They have an extensive wine list and she helped us choose two glasses to compliment the meal. We finished with the keylime pie which was made in house and it was HUGE and of course tasted wonderful. I will continue giving Mahi Mah's my business as long as I keep having great experiences! My only complaint is that the music is too loud, but it has always been like that so it's expected. Definitely give this place a try!

Great place, but not a good fit for the bar crawl.. This was the 4th stop on the 'Ocean Front Bar Crawl' . I've always liked it here. It's a good restaurant to take a date when you want to dress up a little or family when town. They take the time to not only make good food but to make it look good as well. However I don't think this was a good choice for the 'bar crawl'.<br/><br/>There was not a seat in the house and they were so busy we had a heck of a time trying to flag down anyone to make a drink order. By full, they were cleaning tables while people were waiting to sit. The entire main bar and sushi bar were also full.<br/><br/>Tonight being an oddity I'm basing my review grade off past experiences here and will do a proper review on my next visit.

We go for sushi. My fiance and I have been to Mahi Mah's several times and have never ordered anything but sushi. Everytime we go we'll see something on their dinner menu we'd like to try, but never get anything else besides their sushi. It's some of the better sushi we've eaten in the Hampton Roads area.

Down By the Sea. I took my wife here one afternoon and really enjoyed the lunch. The She Crab is probably one of the top three I've had in Hampton Roads. The burger was really delicious. The only complaint (minor) is that it was wintertime and the fans in the dining room were going. Made it a little chilly. The service was fast and friendly and the view is magnificent.

I am completey disapointed in this "local favorite." I went there with high hopes and walked out $75.00 poorer and still hungry. We split three delicious in print sounding appetizers, and 2 beers each. The bingo oysters were okay at most, but I tasted more of the heavy frying and butter than the oyster itself. Our half pound of shrimp was meager, and 8 of them for almost $13.00 just isn't my style. The worst though had to be the Pecan goat cheese. In this gem of a dish, you are served cold pita, with bite sized cold goat cheese rolled in dry nuts. This accompanied by raisin-like "almost so dry you could cough while chewing them" sundried tomatoes, a drizzle of balsamic, and about 7 olives. Overall I most likely won't return. 2 thumbs way down.

Fresh Food sea side. Mahi Mah's is one of the most popular seafood restaurants in the country and is located right on the boardwalk of Virginia Beach. I have been to this restaurant every time I have visited Virginia. The food is very fresh and the service is quick too. I have visited the place with my friends as well as my wife and the experience good all the time. I would recommend making a reservation and sitting outside for the dinner to enjoy the food with the beauty of the boardwalk. The menu has variety of options right from fresh fish preparations to sushi and sashmi. Try the broiled Tilapia and you feel the difference as compared to other restaurants. The attendants are really welcoming and make your time there very comfortable. In the evening you can see the sunset while you enjoy your drinks and appetizers. This is one of my favorite Seafood restaurant.

Pricey but solid. I was a little leery when a local who claimed to have worked at legal seafoods for years recommended this as the best place to get seafood. i'm generally leery of restaurants connected to hotel chains, but sometimes the locals are right. the seared tuna came to the table warm and raw, perfectly presented as ordered, and the bbq grilled fish was topped with a tomato jam that was a great accompaniment. the sushi was on the average side, but with other claiming this was the best sushi in the area i'd hate to have seen what other places were serving. the vegetables that come with the dish -- raw matchsticks of carrot and squash topped with sweet and sour cucumber -- were the weak spot. we had a hunch this would be the case and ordered some sides to share at the table. cheese grits and the lobster mac and cheese (which was more of a cream sauce) = winning.

Went here on July 3rd....very busy so we ate at the bar. we ordered calamari for appetizer...very good!!! i got the house sushi (not a big sushi eater, just discovered that i liked it) it was delicious....my fiance got the scallops also delicious, we got the lobster mac and cheese as a side and i loved it! i will order that as my main meal next time! we will be back!!!

Went here for lunch today. The crab cake sandwich was delicious. I had the wings for an appetizer also, an they will knock your socks off. The restaurant was crowded but what do I expect for a Saturday in June with 80 degree weather. I recommend this place.

Sensational!. Living in West Central Texas, it's almost impossible to get truly fresh seafood, and being a seafood lover makes that suck! Mahi Mah's was the best seafood I had the week I was in VA, and I ate seafood 5 out of 6 days. The prices are a bit high, but the quality of the seafood makes it well worth it. Absolutely sensational, fresh, perfectly cooked while not being over seasoned. I will return every time I'm in the area.

After several recommendations, we decided to try it out.<br/><br/>The decor is very reminiscent of your average Friday's.<br/>We were not impressed - but decided to give it a try.<br/><br/>Simply stated our meal was far more expensive than it should have been given the quality of food.<br/><br/>Steamed Shrimp were good - but truly - it's hard to mess that up.<br/><br/>Calamari was seasoned well, but over cooked -<br/><br/>Our waitress didn't know her seafood - I mentioned something about Ahi - and was met with a completely vacant stare.<br/><br/>Scallops were obviously frozen as was the Tuna - which was also overcooked.<br/><br/>I will say, if you like Broccoli, you'll be happy as they are not stingy with it - we each received a full head.<br/><br/>We have no plans to go back.

Terrible service and over rated. What was I thinking? Eat at the oceanfront on a Saturday during the Neptune festival? The place was packed and the service poor. All four orders we placed were jacked up by the kitchen and it took an hour to get served sandwiches! No excuse for such lousy service. It does not matter how busy a place is, they should never let the quality slip just to make a buck on people they think are tourists.

Wide Selection, Excellent Preparation. Last night's early (pre-concert) dinner was outstanding. A large selection of fresh fish was offered with several preparations (think Oceanaire). My bronzed cobia was delicious and Susan's grilled red snapper also tasty, though a bit chewy. Accompanying new potatoes and broccoli were simple but tasty. It was fun to dine outside along the boardwalk and see the scene!

Sat outside on a nice sunny day and really enjoyed the ocean view while people watching and enjoying my fish tacos! They had a nice kick to them! Yum! Server seemed a little ditsy and forgot a few small items and some we had to ask for twice. All in all it was a nice lunch.

We came here for Restaurant week and certain things have "ran out". Ran out? Where did they go, did they too not like being a part of the menu that was being served? The menu was impressive though, but it failed to deliver. So the one thing they did have, I tried, which was the Lump Crab Cake sandwich. The lump I had was probably slightly larger than a half dollar. No way did it merit $12.95. I did not go for the sushi because I was not confident with the chef to please me on that. May I suggest Domo (may be called Oska on Google Maps) on 18th and Mediterranean if you want decent Sushi near the Beach? Otherwise this place may just be the atmosphere. Go for an appetizer, stay for a drink and the people watching.

Local hangout. Dress up or dress down it's a good locale to chill if you want to hit up HH. Older crowd normally hangs out. Sushi is good and the specials are one of the best at the beach. Excellent service on or off season. Valet parking is preferred unless you are already staying at the Ramada.
