Really good pizza and they can support my entire family - gluten free, dairy free - and do it well.
Some of the best pizza on the island, or frankly in Seattle. The person answering the phone and delivering to the car is a little dense and lack virtually any customer service skills, but overlooking that for the great pizza.
Stick to the classic pizzas and wings at Rock Island - a great old school pizzeria on Vashon. We loved the sausage pizza that we had over a year ago. The fancy Thai (chicken and shrimp) pizza was less exciting.
Good outdoor seating, if a bit disorganized. Service is a bit slow, but the pepporoni and sausage pizzas are worth the wait.
Unfortunately, was not a fan of the tostada pizza. It was a little wilty and weird but it's my own fault for choosing something strange on the menu and I was happy to try it. I really loved the Plowman's Delight so that made up for the tostada. YUM! I was put off by the disposable plates. As someone who really cares about environmental issues I don't like creating waste when I don't have to. Even if it creates some more dishwashing work it would make the world of a difference if they switched to reusable plates as well as switching out the plastic containers they used sour cream and salsa over to reusable bowls. Still highly recommend the Plowman's and I liked the laid back atmosphere.
Only open for take out right now but great, friendly service. I recommend the Portage Pizza which has 5 cheeses, sundried tomatoes and artichoke hearts with olive oil, so good! Gluten-free options available too which is unusual for pizza joints.
The Rock Island Pizza knows how to make a delicious pizza. They do a great job at customizing orders as well which really help my sometimes very particular pizza cravings. And their customer service?!?! How about the BEST SERVICE!? Pretty much sums it up. If you have not checked them out yet, definitely do!
I have eaten pizza in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and the Rock Island Pizza has been the Best ever. I love the wide variety they offer and I have many favorites. Good Luck To All the Staff and Keep Up the Good Work.
