First of all you are served with homemade nacho chips and salsa, the waiters are very polite and good. The food was also great.

Great food, lay back place. Service was great for the waitress being by herself working all the tables. The John Madden special was surprising good. Will go here again.

I ordered plain cheese (monterrey jack) enchiladas, they were extremely hot. I burned my mouth they were so hot, and could taste nothing else except the hot sauce. I wonder how the "flat" enchiladas tasted but I could not tell you as all I could taste was the hot sauce.
I believe "flat" means they simply pile cheese on a flat tortilla, as opposed to a rolled up one.
Beans were extra, and did not come with the ala cart $6.95 price. And they tasted as if they had been reheated, dry and from a can. This is Tex Mex style, not authentic mexican style. This was nothing special at all, very mundane.
I did not like the salsa which was provided with the chips, either, it was too hot as well and green not red as it should be. The salsa served with chips should be mild by default and red or pico de gallo. Not green. It looks like they used hatch chiles to make the salsa but they did not add onions or anything else and the salsa was quite hot.
I received a fork only tightly wrapped in a napkin. No knife, how do they expect me to cut my enchiladas? I had to ask for onions, too, as they were not served.
I really wanted mexican style tacos but they offered only ground beef, brisket, and chicken, not sirloin or fajita style meat. That was absent from the menu but looked overpriced as well.
Very expensive, which should've cost no more than 6.95 as listed on the menu cost over 10 dollars for adding beans as a side dish. I had to pay for rice and lettuce even though I requested they leave them off.
I think this was way overpriced for what I got. There was one waitress for the whole place, not a problem as the place was empty but would be if more customers arrived. Dingy looking place off the main drag. This place needs a major over haul, a new cook, and more variety on the menu. Don't use canned beans!
I will not return.

Nasty food, small potions waste of money. Go anywhere else but hear. Very disappointed in the food. They need to get a new chef. My bag of peanuts was almost same size. I even had them add stuff to it. Just unbelievable small. Not worth the price.

Fun quirky stop with good food and friendly service. If you're looking for fine dining, modern ambience, or a regularly cleaned fish tank then just keep on trucking. If you want to eat local good food with generous portions and a sweet waitress that says "God bless you" as you leave then put on the brakes and enjoy!

Five ⭐️ all the way! A must stop on any road trip journey, we stopped here on the way out and on the way back into AZ. The food is great! We have had chicken tacos, chicken enchiladas, the gorditas, and the John Madden Special (because this place is the John Madden hall of fame!) and my son loves the very classic and basic ground beef burrito. The verde salsa that comes before the meal is spicy and delicious. We couldn’t stop talking about Chuy’s on our 4,500 mile road trip. Just go there!
