Review Ricochet Tacos - Valparaiso

Awesome place to give your taste buds a trip to flavor town!! These are not your traditional tacos. It’s a combination of ingredients that pleasantly dance in your mouth. Don’t change a thing on a taco and be pleasantly surprised!!!

Wow!!! I always wanted to come here and finally I did. Well… THESE ARE THE BEST TACOS IN THE WORLD!!! I grew up in the 1970’s-1990’s at El Taco Real in Hammond. They have good stuff. This is what I would call GOURMET tacos. So I ordered “No Country for Old Men-$7” and it doesn’t get better. I don’t see how it can. I also got “Handle Bar-$7” and it was hotter and also great. I prefer the Old Men ones. I ordered Coca-Cola and I am a connoisseur of it. It was sweet and just the right carbonation. The atmosphere was great too. And who can’t love a place that has an authentic 3 foot Batman on the top shelf where he should be. I watched Batman in the 1960’s and seeing the Bat Computer is what for me in computer science and made me millions over my career. That allowed me to lead FREE hikes everyday at Indiana Dunes Hiking. THE STAFF? Clarissa was so nice and answered every question and was so pleasant. Not hurrying me out. THE MUSIC? It was very “hip” and current. It wasn’t a Mariachi band. SO this gets the rare and coveted SEVEN STAR ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 💫 RATING. WELL DONE Ron Seman

The tacos at this restaurant are the absolute best I have ever had. The awesome thing is any taco can be made vegetarian by substituting the meat for Potatoes or Cauliflower. Each taco has so much depth in flavours. My favorites were The Crosshairs and No Country For Old Men, both substituting the meat for Cauliflowers.

Ricochet Tacos has amazing tacos. One of the best tacos I have had. The menu is well thought out and is flexible for vegetarians/vegans. The service is super quick. My favourite was the taters gonna tate. Vegetarian substitutes available are cauliflower, avocado and potatoes. The flavour of each taco is really good. Portion size of one taco is good, one person can easily have 3 tacos considering mine was vegetarian. The tres leches were delicious. A definite come back place. 👍🏼

Our of town, here in biz. Customer recommended eating here. Love, love, loved it! Not only is the food made fresh, but the whole experience is great inside this quirky taco house!! Will be back again in Valparaiso Indiana.

I’ve been here twice and both times service was phenomenal! The second time we even had someone who was training and even when she seemed a little overwhelmed(it was dinner time) she was very professional and was doing a fantastic job, I wish I could remember who it was! The tacos are so delicious I wish I could eat all of them but after four I’m insanely stuffed. The handle bar, the true romance, and no country for old men were amazing! The drinks are very delicious and slightly dangerous because they taste so good. I’ll definitely be going back

Fantastic tacos, decor is cool, I would recommend the True Romance and Surf Ninja Tacos. Don't forget to buy a beer for the kitchen!

First time at this establishment. Great signature tacos and super service. We tried four different specialty tacos and all were very good. Not your standard fair. The chips came with three different salsas, each different as well. We can’t wait to come back and try the other tacos!

Food was fantastic! I don't drink alcohol, so the drink menu wasn't great, but the food more than made up for it. I would recommend Ricochet to anyone who appreciates quality ingredients and lots of flavor on their tacos.

Great food, good service but serving us watered down margaritas in 8 ounce tumblers with 5 ounces of ice at $7 a piece will keep us from coming back. Shame on you for not putting margarita pricing on your drink menu, shame on us for not asking. $35 for 5 margaritas that wouldn't fill two beer bottles with even less alcohol content than two beers. #seewhyeveryonewasdrinkingbeer #firsttime #lasttime #expensiveice

Spent $92 with tip for 4 kids, 2 adults who imbibed 1 drink each. Good but the bill was shocking! Great atmosphere and yummy tacos. I might suggest trying to add some green crunchy vegetable for kids like cucumber slices. Kids who don’t like salsa need additional vegetable or fruit option with all the starch and meat and cheese.

What I just posted on “Phil’s Phoodie Phinds” (a local Facebook Food appreciation page) sums up my admirable feelings: I am NEVER disappointed after a visit to Ricochet. Pretty sure I’ve already posted about them on here months ago, but too much taco positivity never hurt anyone. We began with the Queso Dip. For drinks I got the Prickly Heart and my guy got the 18th Street IPA- both were amazing. Later I got the Basil Gimlet Fizz which was also delectable. We both started with the Slow Jam taco (not pictured) which is a fave for any non-vegetarian. It’s mouth-watering. Next, I got the “Buffy” but made it vegetarian and Jeff got the Frito Bandito and made it non-vegetarian, ha ha. Wonderful service, food, and drinks! Happy Weekend, Phoodie Phoolks! Go enjoy some great eats!

Yesterday was my first time eating here, but I had been wanting to try it for a while now. I follow on Instagram and everything always looks so great. After my first visit, I can say I wasn't disappointed with the flavors. Everything was delicious, and the service was prompt and friendly. My only complaint is that it was a bit pricey. We had horchata French toast and a brunch tostada, then two alcoholic drinks. It was almost $40. I would definitely go back, but only occasionally, for a unique meal and chill atmosphere.

Loved Valley, and now I love Ricochet! More, actually (though I do miss truffle fries like no other)! The food is a tad pricey, but when it's delicious, I don't mind spending it! The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because I think their drinks are way overpriced for the size/what you get. A seven dollar margarita should give me more than 5 sips.

Ricochet is by far one of my favorite Valpo spots. Great food, with frequent and fresh menu updates to their gourmet tacos. Awesome drinks, fun ambiance and always friendly servers and bartenders. For those complaining about cost - you get what you pay for, and it compares right up there to other amazing unique area places in downtown V.

Went with a group of 8 adults Friday night. Lots of drinking, good food and fun! The staff was great and the food was amazing!! Will be back again soon!

I have eaten at Ricochet 4 times so far and have had an excellent experience every time. I will be back again and again! The tacos are the best tacos I have ever had!

Had such a bad day, this place turned it around. Best tacos, best service, will be coming back for sure. Hands down favorite restaurant from here on out.

The guacamole was very bland. Everything else tasted alright. I have personally had better Mexican food at other establishments. Overpriced. The service was great though.

Food is always great. I stopped in and did a carry out for lunch which consisted of 1 taco, chips and guac. Total was 14.97. My only complaint is they need to offer some lunch specials or something..... That price is a bit steep for that.

Actually left another restaurant after waiting for service and decided to try Ricochet Tacos! So great!! Great service, friendly, smiling, and acted like they wanted to be there!! Amazing food!! Amazing!! Would give 10 stars if I was able to!!
