I love the chowder and crispies teriyaki sand Halibut and spicey Halibut! I worked here when I was a kid and prices have gone up...But the quality is still good!
The portions are small for the price, but the halibut and the shrimp are AMAZING! Fresh fish off the docks in the summer, friendly staff, typical coastal snack shack.
Onion rings way better than fries here!
Great place to eat. Unlike one of the previous reviews, we had another great halibut dinner here tonight. The place was clean, lot of plants all around, the food was hot and tasty, and the order taker was very pleasant and friendly. We usually come here to eat when we are in Valdez and were not disappointed.

Must try...in Valdez, AK. I had been to Valdez a couple times before I found this place. We always went camping and cooked most of our food ourselves. In 2005, I visited Valdez with a friend that grew up there and had since moved away. He told me about the Halibut House and I knew I had to try it. My friend had worked there as a teenager, years ago. He told me about how the Halibut House gets it's fresh fish off the docks each day during the summer. He also told me about this amazing creation called "crispys".. They are waffle cut fries with cheese sauce and chopped onions.
All I can say is "crispys" are the best thing since food itself!!!!
The only thing better than the "crispys" is the fresh halibut basket or halibut sandwich.
Halibut House is a "must stop" place each time I visit Valdez, AK. With me current travel schedule, I stop in about 6 times a year.
If there is any down side to the Halibut House it is the cost. Between the fresh halibut sandwich, crispys, and a drink...you will spend about $18.00.

I would just like to say that this isn't REALLY a "Seafood" restesturaunt, more of a burger joint that sells seafood as well. Two thumbs up =D
I had the Spicey Chicken Sandwich and Cheese Fries, very tasty. It quenched the fast-food craving I've had. Normally I would have to drive to Anchorage to satisfy my fast-food itch, now, there's no more need. My wife and I are going to HH tomorrow. She pregnant and super stoked!
Great place to grab a fairly priced lunch that hits the spot!!! Their Halibut sandwiches are delicious and can't beat their shoe string fries!!!
I got the chicken ranch bacon sandwich which was delicious. It satisfied hunger. The service was good and the food options were great! Nice cozy little restaurant!
The ladies were very nice and helpful! Their menu had many options and I enjoyed the small home town setting inside. Their food was definitely dinner food, not must for an bold flavor.
I've been going here since I was a kid. The food is pretty typical fast food, good but not high end by any means. Prices are low for Valdez but definitely not like McDonald's low. Service is usually okay. The service is not particularly rude, but nobody goes out of their way to be polite either. All in all, I really like this place and visit regularly for lunch.
Four stars is about right. Good fish, but the fries are lacking. Think McDonalds fries but not much taste. The fish is on par with most other deep fried fish houses. Good, but nothing to write home about. If they made just a few adjustments like better fries, it would be five stars.
Pretty affordable as far as dine in places go in Valdez. Food quality was great. Bar food style but they bring it to your table after you order at the front. Fried seafood and burgers. They would get my return service.
