Tastiest beef rib ever! Used to go there often when I was doing PhD at U of I. Today visited after 12 years with my 9 yo. We both enjoyed it! There is no table service but I still like dining in. Friday night special: beef rib!

This place was the licious and stuart and i loved it the lot. Stuart (my boyfriend) brought me to here because he was wanting some bar b then q which he loves of course. up on our arrivel i was greetid with the glowing sign of the porgy. and we each ordered a woah nelly which is a sausage with brisk it and bar b then q sauce. i ordered mine with miled sauce and stuarts was ordered with spicey sauce. After we’re done ordering we looked for a place to sit at and they had a lot of choices. you could sit outside but also inside. thanks to my influencer statis we got the best seat in the house. i also got a pickle on the side. our woah nelleys were so the licious and we could not get enough. my pickle was also the best one i’ve had and the barb then q sauce on both of the sausages were so good and yummy. overall i give lil porgys a 10/10 because it was good and yeah

Had the beef brisket and it was awesome! A friend had the chicken and ribs and they really liked it. He had the mixed sauce and it was a bit spicy. Mild sauce was just right with the brisket. Service was quick. Place is clean and nice.

Original owner and his daughter are still there and working the business! Food was spot on and that sauce!! Marvelous sauce is still the same!!! Yummy!!!!

Best bbq in town. There aren't many side dishes, but if you're looking for the best smoked meats, this is your place

Delicious ribs and smoked turkey legs! I love it because of its homemade atmosphere and food's flavors. They have their own lemma: "It is incredibly good 'cause we cook on wood", and it is the main point about this place, because some flavors just coming from cook on wood. You can note many smoked flavors on the meats. The portions are very generous.

I come here every year since I moved for NC. The BBQ is the best I ever had! I even take a couple of gallons back home with me. Anything on the menu is worth trying but the fish. Never had it. Its the sauce for me and the open pit they cook on. See yall next time!

It took a while for them to get it figured out, but a couple of years after the fire they are better than ever. They went to a wood smoker instead of direct fire, so now the consistency is very good. Meats are more moist and tender. Everything else is just as good as it ever was.

Had there lunch special. Was a good pork sandwich and fries. I had there mild sauce which was good and sweet. Ive heard there hot is very hot. I'll definitely try them for supper :)

The flavor or the BBQ sauce here is unmatched. It comes in mild, mix, and Hot. I get the mix. I have tried almost everything here over the years. I love the ribs and pork sandwiches best. I have eaten here 35 years and still love it.

This is my favorite spot for BBQ in town. I recommend the rib tips with sauce on the side. The fries are always fresh and their lemon shake-ups pair with the meal perfectly.

This was my first time eating here. I had the brisket sandwich with extra hot BBQ sauce. The sauce had a great taste and I was pleasantly surprised that it actually had some heat to it. It's not as hot as I usually like but for fast food it was hotter than most. With friendly service and great food I'd definitely recommend you giving it a try at least once.

Tub of Tips with Mixed Sauce on the Side!!!!! Can't go wrong. Sunday 3/4/18 . 6:30 Line was out to door. Didn't want to wait. Went to Hickory River and purchased a full slab $20. Got 14 ribs. And it sucked!!! So... to all of you . WAIT!!! LOL PORGIES is sooo worth it

Made a catering order all the way from Colorado Springs to be ready two days after our arrival for a family get together. Was not disappointed. Food was ready and hot and they even place it in the car for us. Very friendly staff. Nothing but compliments about the ribs, corn on the Cob, pork and beans, and the Cole slaw was on point. Great job.

This is our favorite place to get ribs - I didn't understand what the fuss was about ribs before having some of these! You can buy pints or quarts of the sauce, which we do for when my husband smokes pork shoulders or ribs at home, and we always have some in the fridge for when we get some pulled pork out of the freezer. I like the mild, he likes the mixed. And I'm not the biggest fan of BBQ, so it's nice to have found a place we can both enjoy. It more tomato-y than the vinegar-heavy southern style sauce, but that's how we like it. Great price too! Just popped in for the first time since they reopened to get some more sauce, and the new seating area is nice! You still have to mind how you exit the dining area (you can only get to the door from one side of the dining area), which is a quirk of the building, but part of me is happy that hasn't changed.
