Review Louise's Place - Two Harbors

Ian Dees
We had soup and sandwich combos for lunch along with some spectacular baked goods for dessert. The soup was clearly homemade and was excellent. The sandwich was on wonderfully soft bread and included a handful of ruffle potato chips. The turkey was great, too. The almond cake was especially good - very tender and just the right amount of sweetness. I definitely recommend trying this place out!

We had our 40 person wedding catered by Louise's Place and it was a wonderful experience and even better food. Prices were very reasonable, food was hot and cooked to perfection, and the menu they worked with me to create was superb. There were so many compliments on how good the food was! Chicken in a wild mushroom tarragon sauce, portobello mushrooms in parsley butter, roasted Brussel sprouts with bacon and parmesan, garlic mashed potatoes, and strawberry Spinach salad with a homemade vinegarette. You can not go wrong and Dan and his wife are creative and loving chefs who obviously take pride in their art of cooking, as seen by their creative menu and delicious food.

SO YUMMY I dream of coming back for these sandwiches. A local recommended and it did not disappoint! The cranberry wild rice bread was absolutely to die for. I got the Louise club and enjoyed every single bite. Each of the people in my group got something different and each of us left satisfied and wanting more! Their desserts were great as well. Tried a wide variety and was impressed with each of them. Such a fun local shop with great employees!

Stopped here this morning for the first time - wow! What a great experience. Homemade breakfast sandwiches were fantastic. We got a giant cinnamon roll to split between 3 of us and we all agreed - it was life changing. Service was friendly and quick. Will definitely make this place part of my regular Two Harbor stops!

My husband had the spicy burrito and I had the egg muffin sandwich with bacon. Both were SO good. We also split a Carmel roll- amazing! Highly recommend.

Small little spot to stop at and was totally worth it! Their sandwiches were delicious. We loved the cranberry bread as well! The cheeseburger for the kids was perfect they loved it and us adults also thought it was super tasty! I ordered an Italian soda that was super tasty. I think it was called mint frost maybe? It was scrumptious loved the mint. Loved the table we sat at I thought it was super unique.

My family rode the train to Two Harbors, having children we had planned on eating at the pizza place that was near the depot, however they were not open, we moved on to 2 other locations near the depot that a normal person would think served lunch but no! We were directed to go to Louise's place by the bar tender at the legion and I'm glad we were. Upon walking up the ramp into the restaurant you felt like you were walking into one of those places that you know just had good food. They have a nice variety of sandwiches and other lunch items as well as ice cream and sweet desserts. Prices were very reasonable we met the owners who were busy serving food they were also very nice. Louise's is definitely going to be our first choice when looking for a place to eat in Two Harbors! Btw, I'm not joking about being the only establishment within walking distance of the train station, the legion, castle danger brewery do not serve food, and the pizza place is not open while the train is there, you can take the shuttle but then you miss out on sight seeing at the depot. So skip the shuttle and head over to Louise's and have the meatloaf sandwich it was great!

I love this unique eating spot with a personality half way between a wonderful coffee shop and a comforting hometown cafe. Besides the items on the menu, each day offers a special with comfort food like your mother used to make. My own favorite from the menu is an egg salad sandwich on delicious specialty bread. My husband likes the veggie nachos and Italian cream sodas with either cranberry or raspberry flavor. The grandkids love standing in front of the glass case selecting a special treat from the bars, cookies and sweet rolls. I am dying to try your lavender hot chocolate, but every time I open my mouth to order it, the word "latte" comes out. And excellent coffee it is, either as a latte or as regular coffee! The food is great and the drinks are fixed just the way you like them, but the best thing about Louise's Place isn't even the food - it's the friendly people who work there!

Louise's Place a great local restaurant the that offers hand made breads from scratch, awesome daily specials (Bangers and Mash!), and an amazing low key humble atmosphere! Dan and Marsha are truly fantastic and the other staff there is as well. Enjoy a cup of coffee with one of Marsha's delicious dessert bars or have yourself an egg and cheese scone! Breakfast and lunch won't disappoint. If you are planning a wedding or event that requires catering... check with Louise's! I just had my wedding and the food they made was PHENOMENAL! We had 191 guests and Louise's delivered to the highest degree! They were professional, quality, and super fair with pricing. WAY better than your commercial caterers (nothing against Blackwoods, Duluth Grill, etc.). There is so much more that I want to say but the fact of the matter is go in and see for yourself! If you do need catering I would recommend the slow roasted beef in castle creme danger ale gravy... Delicious! Our guests thought the food was fantastic. Some of the best they've ever had at a wedding!

Love this place! I tend to get either the veggie nachos or the Louise's club. So good. Can't go wrong with the cinnamon roll or caramel roll either.

Excellent chicken pot pies! Grandkids had marvelous grilled cheese sammichs. Carrot soup with cranberry wild rice is a new favorite. THEN there was dessert of 'birthday' cake, a huge cinnamon roll, and a special bar that was chocolate, gooie, and Great. Mighty TASTIE!
