Great place to eat (casual). Food always delicious, hot, and nice variety to choose from on the menu board. Enjoyed meals here multiple times with business colleagues, friends, and family. Always excellent experience. :)
This BBQ joint is in the heart of downtown had good BBQ. Its consistant and has nice variety on the menu. Their burnt ends are fantastic and their ribs are excellent. Overall its probably the best choice for quality BBQ downtown
Only open during lunch and before shows at the Cain Ballroom. Had the Z-Man sandwich and thought it was pretty good. Brisket while hot was a little dry. Like that they finally got Hot BBQ sauce. I believe it;s called the Loco sauce and has ghost pepper in there so it is very spicy but good. I ended up mixing it with the regular hot and tame it some. Interior is a little sparse but not a bad place for a quick BBQ fix.
Delicious lunch. On first blush, I was a bit surprised by the prices at Oklahoma Joe's. I wasn't expecting a $10-$15 lunch. I decided to scrimp a little, and just order a sandwich, with no sides. I picked the Hog Heaven and was delighted. The combo of smoked sausage and pulled pork was enough meat for two sandwiches. The sauce on the pork was a solid blend of sweet and spicy. The bun was buttery and delicious. The pickles on the side provided a perfect acidity. And the sandwich alone was enough lunch for me. With tax, it set me back $7. I'm already planning another visit to try their burnt ends.
Best BBQ and service!! With the response being overwhelming that people would not eat here for past reviews of others who have not eaten here or choose to not eat here because of this man's belief in God is astonishing! For we are not people of judgement but that of character and integrity not so much to people but of the one and only God!! God bless this business, joe and his family!! Boomer Sooner!! In God we trust!!
Great Burnt Ends and Ribs. I ate here for lunch on a Tuesday in October.
My favorite meats of theirs are their burnt ends and their ribs. Everything else I find average or a little below average. However, the Burnt Ends and Ribs are very good. I never order sandwiches either. If I want a sandwich I'll go to Subway. When I'm at a BBQ restaurant I want barbecued meat and lots of it.
I'm not a coleslaw eater so I cannot and will not try and comment on how theirs tastes. Their beans are good. Not great, but good. I did have a friend say their beans tasted like Wendy's chili with brown sugar added. I found that description rather amusing.
Order ribs and/or burnt ends and you won't be disappointed. In fact, skip the side dishes altogether and load up on ribs and burnt ends.
Their hot BBQ sauce isn't very hot. I'm not one of those guys that loves super hot food and so label everything as tasting mild so I can appear manly. It's seriously not hot. Of all of the hot/spicy BBQ sauces I've had at the various BBQ restaurants in Tulsa, OK Joe's has to be the most mild of them all.
Staff are very friendly.
This location also features a bar and a music stage. It is also next door to Cain's Ballroom and is open an hour before any shows there.
Their seating at lunchtime looks awkward. Almost like their real seating is on order and hasn't been delivered yet, so they're renting some.
Fantastic venue with a great history. We’ve lived here 13 years and I’m ashamed to say this was our first visit to Cain’s Ballroom. Amazing place, great acoustics, friendly staff. Will definitely not wait 13 years to go back. Plus, the musicians were amazing.
I went to see Melvins and Boris for the Twins of Evil Tour just last night. It was mind-blowing. A large part of this due to the venue itself. I've been in the area for 7 years and this was my first show at Cain's. The venue was very clean and spacious, including the bathrooms. There were no lines for either bathroom that I noticed. The food is amazing and the seating area for concessions was great with plenty of tables and a screen to watch the stage if there's a performance on. The food is catered by Mac's BBQ. Being a Skiatook native, I may be biased but it's damn good. As far as security goes, they were present but mostly not intrusive. There was one point when there was some moshing and security came in and broke it up. But they mostly let it go for a bit before stepping in.
The biggest star was the sound. It was Ah mazing! Part of that is probably due to the huge barn dancehall that makes up the showroom. These bands really pushed the limits in terms of volume but the system handled it well.
I don't go to many live shows because I just don't feel comfortable at many venues. You know how they can get. However, my first impression of Cain's is stellar and I'm already looking for other shows to attend. I guess my only real complaint is parking but that's not the venue's fault and there's tons of free street parking all around it if you're there after 5.
The venue is very open and spacious. The designated smoking/vaping area is large enough to accommodate bigger crowds during sold-out shows. The sound and lighting crews do a stellar job. The Used and Sleeping with Sirens was the first time I'd ever been to Cain's, and I was thoroughly impressed.
Great historic dance hall with an iconic barbecue restaurant inside. While you can stand where the greats did (Bob Wills), you can't sit there. Concerts are standing-room only. There are bleachers along the side if you get there early enough. Still an amazing venue.
Very cool historic place. Get there early if you want good parking or be prepared to walk a ways. Mac's BBQ inside is excellent.
One of my favorite venues ever! So many good times had here!
The atmosphere was fantastic, the nostalgia just oozes from the walls, seeing some of the history that has passed through those doors at Cain's is worth the visit alone. The acoustics are amazing! Lainey Wilson put on an absolutely FANTASTIC show!!! Both of her opening acts were superb! The cover of Tulsa time was pretty dang good (attached). Food smelled fantastic (we had already eaten), drink prices were reasonable, all of the staff was very professional and friendly. The location is a short walk from several hotels. Definitely worth the ticket prices which were reasonable. The only downside is it got overwhelmingly hot, several people had to be escorted to the seating area to get some fresh air. Fyi there is NO ballroom seating, unless you get tickets to the mezzanine, so wear comfortable shoes!
This is a great venue for a concert. It's a small place, but it has a fantastic sound system. There are multiple bar areas and a BBQ joint on site. There is also a balcony with its own bar that only allows 40 people. We had a blast at this concert, and we'll definitely be going back!!
Cains is awesome all around the food can get here is so delicious. Saw pop evil with 3 other bands and all were amazing. All bands minus the headliner pop evil were at the merchandise booth talking and talking pics with the crowd. I will be back soon for clutch and Giovannie and the hired guns. Must check this place out. Cannot beat the price of the tickets for what you get.
I have seen many concerts at this venue. Grab a bite to eat at Mexicali across the street before the show, as food options in the venue are limited to bags of chips. But always a good time! Mostly standing room. The stage is not raised enough for shorter people to see like the Criterion in downtown OKC. The limited balcony seating is too far from the stage and, most annoying, the ceiling beams will obstruct your view.
