First time eating at Delta Cafe Scratch Kitchen , we were at Sam's Club in Tulsa Oklahoma, and ask associate where is a good place to eat homestyle cooking and she told us about this Restaurant, oh my folks this restaurant is a hidden gem for the lip smacking delicious made from scratch food menus, and your portions are huge , I had the chicken & dumplings with side of green beans , and turnip greens with a homemade dinner roll , my wife had a Chef salad with more meat on this salad then I have ever seen , folks you really got to try this restaurant out in Tulsa Oklahoma, set your GPS to Delta Cafe Scratch Kitchen you won't be disappointed. The chicken & dumplings were just like my grandma made me when I was a kid , and side dishes were outstanding. The turnip greens were so tasty my taste buds we're doing back flips , and my dinner roll was hot and butter melted on contact not like some of places that serve dinner rolls that are so hard you could break plaster with , my wife's chef salad was so huge she needed a take home box , and price for this delicious meal was $22+tip , if you live in Tulsa Oklahoma or visiting the city you gotta try this place it will bring back memories of how your momma and grandma use to cook fo you.
Everything was great! Waitress was so nice and attentive. Had the pot roast and catfish. Roll and cornbread was so delicious with fluffy butter on the side. Absolutely loved it! It was very busy on Tuesday senior night for 10% discount. They probably need to hire more waitresses/waiters, but ours was very lovely.
Haven't had Delta Cafe in a very long time... happened to be on this side of town with my kiddos (they have never been) so, I figured I would bring them in and see what they thought about them. The kiddos LOVED the rolls! I have always loved the jalapeno cornbread with butter. My youngest got the macaroni & cheese which she devoured. The mash potatoes she claimed were "spicy" but that is probably because she saw the pepper flakes...she doesn't care for seasoning. To me, the mashed potatoes is one of my favorite sides. *Ugh kids* My teen got the hamburger, now he is a hamburger critic, he said it was good as well as the fries. However, we ended up getting about 3 orders of rolls. As for myself, I got chicken & dumplings and they were wondering!
Kids approved! We are happy & full! We will definitely be back! Service was wonderful as well. I did not catch our waitress name but she was very attentive and the atmosphere was nice.
We had a great lunch with excellent service from Janay. I had the Vegetable
Heaven, my husband had the Large stack. We chose our favorites over the Thanksgiving special. (Even though that would have been so delicious too). What a great meal. So happy we went in today.
Ordered a delicious salad and fried mushrooms. The customer service was very good. The food was so delicious! The fried mushrooms were huge and so good! I highly recommend it.
Very nice place to come for new Year's Day luck meal. Complimentary black eye peas but no greens on the menu :(. You need the greens for money. Jalapeno cornbread isn't hot and you can pick out the jalapenos as it's not laden down with it.
Such a great experience. Our waiter was so awesome and got everything right. Food came quick and the price was superb for the quality and quantity of food. I will definitely be going back. Shout to to Delta for AMAZING FOOD at an AMAZING PRICE 🥳

I have seen this location years ago when it was located at 41st and Garnett. Never experienced it until a week ago in their new location at 51st and Yale. Upon arrival, my wife, son, daughter-in-law, and I were met with a comfort food aroma. The moment you walk in the door you are transported to a place of wonderful smells in a comfortable dining environment. We were promptly seated and provided menus. My menu had some form of food on the inside of it, and requested a new one, which was promptly replaced. Our waitress brought our drinks along with Jalapeño cornbread and rolls. Both of these baked treats were very good however for a restaurant that claims everything is scratch made, providing margerine instead of butter was a letdown. I ordered the chicken fried steak, black-eyed peas, and mashed potatoes, my wife and daughter-in-law got the sirloin steak special with Mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and French fries. My son ordered the bacon cheese burger with French fries. Everybody enjoyed their meal but for one thing. The mac & cheese was dry and lacked flavor.
Now on to my meal and what I thought of it.
This chicken fried steak is one of my top three that I have ever encountered. The breading was very crisp and reminded me of corn flakes. My first bite was crunchy and then filled with the warmth and flavor of a well terndorized steak seasoned nicely. It made me feel relaxed and happy, like made from scratch comfort food should make you feel. The black-eyed peas tasted of hamhock and a slight bite of vinegar that just took this side dish to another level. Finally the mashed potatoes were also scratch made with the perfect amount of salt, butter and cream. Something that I liked was that they were not fully mashed and provided a bit of texture with every bite.
Overall this visit was very enjoyable, and we will be back. I wanted to give this place five stars but after trying the mac&cheese and the margerine instead of butter, I couldn't. If you are looking for comfort food that will warm your taste buds with from scratch cooking, The Delta Cafe is a great place to go. Next time, I will try some desert, as it looked amazing but I was so stuffed to partake of that journey.
Delicious home style food. Our server was on the ball and went above and beyond for a special request we had. I had fried shrimp that they made for me with cornmeal instead of batter. We were there after the lunch hour so it was not at all crowded. It was also the day after they had their power restored from the huge storm that went through a week ago, and it looked like all was back up and running well.
The pot roast was quite good with vegetables cooked in including potatoes so don't order a side of potatoes also. Reg order is quite large.
This restaurant is really good The cook knows what he's doing and the staff is great The waitresses are top notch The insides a little old but it adds to the feel of a scratch kitchen
Wow, what a great experience! Big portions, friendly service, and they have an old-time spot inside you can get milk shakes and malts! Very very impressed! Hope I see you all there soon, check it out for sure, you won't be disappointed!
