Amazing and extensive native American collection, from points and simple tools to magnificent bead work on their clothing . Lots of old west artwork and other international art as well. Great prices, smaller, intimate rooms with a casual yet elegant feel that allows a great experience, beautiful grounds; well maintained and gorgeous, recommend for adults and family!. worth the trip!!

Great museum filled with Native American relics. We spent about 2 hours inside and wandering around the gardens. My boyfriend actually learned quite a bit about his ancestors. I loved the landscaping and the different themed gardens from all the ages. Definitely a must see if you’re in Tulsa.

Definitely worth a visit at least once. The museum is great, but the gardens and park don't get their due. A must see, the pictures do them no justice. The only disappointment in the gardens are the pre-columbian and Pioneer gardens, they need some attention. As for the museum, they've got several play corners for kids and an entire kid-focused exhibit down stairs. The masterwork and permanent collection of western and Native American art was stunning and interesting. It was great to see the bronze sculptures and the gigantic paintings. Recommended.

Some of the gardens were fantastic. It was so Peaceful there. The museum was great it had a large variety of paintings, photographs and sculpture. It's the best place to go to learn about art. Your kids will love it there. They have some activities today we made time capsule and it was soooooo fun. I would highly recommend this place.
50 in a bottle
Very nice museum and worth a visit. Artifact room on lower level has more artifacts than you could look at in a day with a wonderful interactive e-guided tour via a tablet you can carry with you as you go through this section. Upstairs has visiting exhibits and some wonderful bronze work by artists such as Remington. There are wonderful paintings and the gardens are beautiful and peaceful. Great place to spend a morning or afternoon. The current Pulitzer prize exihbit is very intense, you might not want to take small children through it. But do see it. It will move you.

The Gilcrease has a jewel of a collection I try to bring to the attention of non-Oklahomans. The Remington and Russell sculptures are a great set. There's a lot more range to the art, as a whole, than one expects.
Many of the American West paintings are great postcards of the period, forerunners of the action art/illustration of modern times.
Visit the awesome landscapes. Stand in front of Moran's massive Shoshone Falls, just close enough for it to fill your sight, and feel the vertigo and splendour.
There's a good interactive exhibit downstairs, a great glass-walled hall, and lots of things going on.

Pretty decent museum, but I really enjoy their wine dinners! Generous pours and occasional refills offered - food and wines are paired and courses out and are themed with current exhibit.

Always a beautiful wonderful place to visit. Then one of my favorite places since I was a little girl. Way way more years than I'd like to admit. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous. We took some family pictures there. Highly recommended. The museum is always fabulous. Their rotating exhibits as well as their standard exhibits are always fascinating, no matter how many times you see them. If you're coming to Tulsa you need to stop at Gilcrease Museum.

The Gilcrease Museum is my favorite museum in Tulsa! It’s in a beautiful building with gardens, a pond and views of Tulsa in the distance. The museum is really well laid out and there are always new temporary exhibits to explore. The temporary exhibits tend to focus on western and indigenous culture and they’re always really interesting and informative. There’s also a restaurant with beautiful views and a Sunday buffet brunch. The museum is also sometimes free on Sunday!

Gorgeous set up, clean, full of information & learning tools. It held a diverse arsenal of art, & lots of things for children to see & do. I loved that part because it allowed the children to experience Art & history.
There wasn't an "African American(AA)" presence at all. Just an exhibit to an AA comic book character but 99% of the characters in the comic were not. As an AA woman & mother knowing the rich & also tragic history of AA in Tulsa, when I took my children there I expected to see & be able to show them something regarding people who look like us. That's the only thing lacking in this museum. Which is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

Such a beautiful location to visit. Wonderful nature trails wind throughout the museum grounds and provide a great outdoor alternative while they are closed. Plus the full view of downtown Tulsa at sunset was beautiful.

Funday Sundsy saw the museum hopping with families enjoying the free admission and superb extra activities. It was great to see so many kids with corn-shhuck dolls that they had made with the assistance of docents, University of Tulsa students, and native American volunteers. The Dorothea Lange's America and Bob Dylan exhibits were well worth the time. The gift store also offers great memory preservers.

Aside from the Philbrook, the Gilcrease Museum is another epochal location in Tulsa that must be visited by art-lovers. It may not be as resplendent as the Villa Philbrook - like the cover of a book - it's what's on the inside that counts.
My family and I began at the Gilcrease restaurant. It wasn't busy at all, which was fortunate. I ordered the chicken tenders, grilled vegetables, and mashed potatoes and gravy. It had a fancier name and description. The lunch was good, however the breading coating the chicken was excessively thick and crunchy.
The real star of the restaurant was the triple chocolate torte. Fantastic!
Afterward we finally trekked through the museum; taking in the paintings, sculptures, and other various artifacts. My favorite collection was the mask and hand molds created of Abraham Lincoln. The bronze sculptures were also fascinating.

We accidentally came the day before a free admission day and were comped because, "You're already here." We're from Kansas City and much preferred Gilcrease to the art museums there. Gilcrease has beautiful, historically significant artworks without the "art culture" posturing. It's not overwhelmingly large, yet offers plenty to see and the Kids room was excellent! My kids asked if we could come again before we had left!

An exquisite collection of masterpieces that depict America in a way I've never seen before. It is an essential experience for anyone coming to Oklahoma. Spend at least two hours there, but really you should allocate three. The building itself is laid out well and the ground are a pleasant stroll. When I went out was nice and quiet too.

Experienced their Sunday brunch today, and overall, left satisfied. The experience was far from perfect, but the food was extremely tasty and the environment was great. I highly recommend the prime rib and waffles. The reason it wasn't perfect was due to the service, which was average at best, and the lack of allergy awareness. My wife has a severe tree nut allergy and could not eat several dishes including the cobbler, which contained nuts, or the waffles. There were no signs informing people of this and my wife was fortunate to be told by a friend to avoid the cobbler and witnessed nuts being used as an option in the waffle batter.

Wonderful surprise. We are frequent Gilcrease visitors however we have never thought about staying to eat at The Restaurant. We were surprised at the wonderful food and very reasonable prices. The lobster bisque and hamburger were delicious. We will return to try the Sunday brunch soon. BTW - the George Washington exhibit is excellent.

YUMMY!. Although this is a gorgeous upscale white-tablecloth restaurant with a sophisticated menu and great views, it is also kid friendly. Even though they don't have a kids' menu, they can make super grilled cheese sandwiches. My 6 year old is a picky eater and he thinks that the rolls/biscuits at Gilcrease are the most heavenly things he has ever eaten. They also serve their fries and sweet potato fries in cute little baskets. I personally loved all the TONS of gluten free options for me! Not just generic meat and potatoes gluten free like everywhere else, but actual creative fun things to eat that I'm not allergic to! Everything I tried was great and nicely seasoned, but not too spicy. They even had flourless chocolate cake that I could eat all day. And yes, they do have high chairs!
