Review Ken's Bbq - Tucson

I am always looking for local bbq joints and black-owned businesses and I love that this checks both boxes! They are doing take-out only but the wait for food wasn’t too long. Service was very friendly. I got the brisket dinner w/ Mac & cheese and greens. The sides were delicious. The brisket was a little tough but had a great smoky flavor & I loved the bbq sauce. Would recommend giving this place a try! I will definitely be back to try their other meats (& gumbo on Friday/Saturday!)

Smoke flavor on ribs were so good! Going back to get some gumbo they only make on Fri and Sat! Owners are from Louisiana and Florida... Support your local!

Great St. Louis Ribs. Nice smoke ring, done but still has some bite, just like we like it. We are visiting from NC and this is the best BBQ we have found in Tucson. We may pay a return visit before we fly out. Mac & Cheese is also good. The ribs have a nice Smokey taste. The wood is different from what we have in NC. I wonder what type of wood he used?

From the moment i entered the place, the delicious aroma of sweet and smokey sauces over grilling meat filled my mask. the staff was friendly and quick. I ordered a beef brisket with a side of greens to go. The look of the food when I first opened it made me think I was going to be disappointed. the portion size is deceivingly smaller than it looks, but is actually very well portioned for a proper meal. The meat was wrapped separate from the bun and the sauce was in a plastic sauce container for a "self-assemble" kit feeling. After I put the pieces together though, I was very happy. The meat was at a perfect temp, and serving everything separately kept the bread from absorbing the juice from the meat. The beef had a remarkable tender texture, with a light blend of fat and smoke for flavor. the sauce complimented everything perfectly. I would order this again. The greens were okay, filling and with proper texture. I hope to try them when they are made fresh next time.

Amazing meat! I love pig! These guys smoke some good pig! I did not like the potato salad, tasted factory made...but the beans....sooooo yummy. And the bbq sauce is amazing also and I am not a fan usually. Will definitely be back!

Newly opened and still under final preparations.... The aroma wafting from the smoker had me enticed and salivating!...the business owners were in the process of making finishing touches to their museum honoring black history in Tucson beginning with their (great)grandfather. I can't wait to return when completed, and the food is AWESOME!

Found this place by chance, glad I did. The owners were friendly and made some Solid dry rub bbq. The ribs and brisket stood on its own smoked nicely without needling any sauce, but the homemade sauce is excellent. Fresh peach cobbler to finish off the meal. Will be back to try other dishes. Better than any local chain places and less expensive too

Great black owned BBQ joint in Tucson. I had to check it out and I was pleased! Staff is very friendly and down-to-earth and willing to answer any questions you may have. Will definitely be going back. The meal I had was the beef brisket dinner with collard greens and macaroni and cheese and cornbread with my desert being the peach cobbler.

Everything was good but the ribs are the star. Get the whole slab, eat too many and have the rest later. As is true with all excellent barbecue, no sauce necessary but do try them! The hot has a pepper-based spiciness and if it is a bit too inense for you, mix with the sweet sauce for a good balanced enhancer for the smokiness. The greens are also delicious with the little kick of heat. Sadly, they were out of sweet potato pie-another thing to look forward to for the next visit.

The food is great and comes with good portions! I wish the black history museum next door was open! I used to love going in there as a kid after we ate our food!

This is the best BBQ we've had in Tucson. We're from Texas and it was good to finally have good BBQ. We had the brisket and ribs. It was also the best mac and cheese I've had in Tucson. It's not better the one my husband and I make ;-) I liked the greens as well. I'll be ordering those again too along with the cornbread muffins (I have to have cornbread with my greens). We will return the next time we are in want of BBQ. This place is a bit off the beaten path (e.g., it's not Downtown, it's not near UA, and it's not in Oro Valley), but it's worth the drive wherever you're coming from. Please support this Black-owned business.

These gentleman are absolutely delightful with some of the best food in Tucson! I saw Two Boots on the news and i decided i wanted it for dinner. Looked them up online and realized they closed in 15 min and i lived 35 min away. I called and they keep the restaurant open til i made it down there. THANK YOU VERY MUCH GUYS! It was amazing!

We're from Omaha, Nebraska and was visiting my Mom in Tuscon, and came across two Boots BBQ as Soul BBQ-- it was FIRE! The ribs and the brisket were absolutely delicious! The rub was some of the best I ever tasted! I definitely recommend this restaurant when in Tuscon!

Pulled pork, bbq sauce, and greens were delicious but the Mac and cheese was tasteless. Sweet potato pie was sweet but didn’t taste anything like sweet potato. 😕

The ribs are very good, seasoned to perfection has that savory smoked flavor. I would highly recommend this Place if you want some down home BBQ with homemade sides. Service is great.

The pulled pork had a perfect amount of smoke. Coleslaw tasted fresh and the collards were delicious. I’ll be coming back on Friday for the gumbo.

Easily the best bbq I have ever had. Friendly staff serving food that's so good I dont even have adequate words to describe. Got the ribs and pulled pork hands down the best I've ever had. Tried the sweet sauce the not sweet and the spicy. Spicy has a hefty kick but amazing flavor not all heat. The sweet sauce and the not sweet both made me want to cry they where so freaking good. Any time I have half an chance to eat bbq this will be where I go.

I just happened across this place today and got the gumbo. I had a little sticker shock at $17 but once I ate that Gumbo it eased the pain a bit because it was fantastic.
