Don't let the corny name fool you this place is actually pretty good! Friendly staff and GOOD Pho! What more do you need?
Don't bother with the soda though $1.99 and no refill, #9 was a solid authentic Vietnamese Pho and I'd definitely come back if I'm in Tucson again
The server was very polite and attentive. Our food came out and was delicious
Loved foods, WiFi, and service here! My friend and I went here for our rice noodle lunch, and the texture of the noodle was awesome. The seasoning here was amazing too, especially for the hot sauces. When we were leaving, I got a cracked fortune cookie, and the cashier had no issue to give me a better one. That’s why they earn 5 stars from my comment.
First time visit for a take out bowl of Seafood Pho, with a side of pork egg rolls. Simply amazing cuisine. I will go back for eat in and take out. The flavors were simply amazing. Their pricing is right-on, and the staff were efficient, courteous, and very friendly. PHO #1: AWESOME!
They had really good pho, and an interesting atmosphere, a bit like most Asian restaurants in Tucson. I liked how they gave you your pho, and then had a dish on the side with sauce so you choose if you wanted to use it and how much to use if you did instead want it. Their meat and rice noodles were excellent. There wasn't a lot of customers, but I think that's just because it isn't well known. My only problems were that it didn't have boxes (at least they never offered) so since I couldn't finish all my pho right then, I had to leave it, and couldn't enjoy it later. It was a little frustrating that despite lacking customers, my water was still getting empty, but overall it's not too big a deal. Besides that we had great service and our server was pretty nice, and you can choose wherever you sit in the restaurant, down to the exact table, so that was really nice. Overall they had pretty good food, and I would definitely come again. If I remember correctly, you can't pay with a card unless you are paying $10 or more, so keep that in mind.
Excellent Pho we eat here frequently and enjoy the food. 2 things that stopped me from giving 5 stars...the restaurant could be cleaner and they charge quite a bit for a can of soda and cup of ice and you have to pay full price for refills. I'll still go back but now only order water.
If you love Pho, then you know fresh ingredients and good cuts of meat are really important, but it's the broth that makes it special. As far as I'm concerned, Pho #1 has the best broth - rich and flavorful and always steaming hot. You just can't go wrong with the #16 on the menu!
Outside of little Saigon in Garden Grove, CA, this is the best Pho soup I've had - certainly the best in Tucson that I've had. If you are a purist, this place is for you. It's not fancy, but the people are nice and the food is excellent. I've been told that great Pho is about the broth. These guys have THE broth. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu. Today was my first time there. Great find.
Tried the soup with squid and shrimp with Vietnamese noodles and fried egg rolls. Quite good. Thai tea was good, too. Prices were on the upper end, but seemed like quality food. Service was good and people were friendly.
First of all this is now Pho#1- new owners much better food than previous owner/ name.
Best Pho in town, perhaps the state! The Pho ( means " soup' in Vietnamese ) is made with slow cooked beef bones and is simmering all day long. This makes it taste so good. Not bullion like other places ( Miss Saigon shame on them). The whole place is clean clean clean... you could eat of the kitchen floor! The whole staff is warm, friendly and eager to make sure you enjoy your meal. Number 11 is my all time favorite- have it 3 times a week and never get tired of it.
Place is a bit pink- walls- and the waiters can get overwhelmed quickly if it's super busy, but I could never trade their quality food for slick of "popular". The Chen's rock.
