We stopped here for lunch. Restaurant was very clean and maintained. The staff was prompt and friendly. I had Dos Enchiladas Verde and my husband had ChileVerde De Pork. The food was outstanding and the price was reasonable. Bill was $30 for our meals and drinks. We will come here again the next time we pass through Tucson.

If I had a teleportation booth, I would be eating lunch at El Indo today. I loved the food, everything I ordered was delicious. I now live in South Carolina and I know of no restaurant of comparable quality within a two hundred mile circle. The chilitepin chili powder they had made everything taste like down home cooking. I grow many chilies at home and I love chilitepin above all. Sorry, I was eating, the El Indo food was Heavenly and I did not once give a thought to my phone. Here's my chilitepin plants, now in the kitchen to survive the winter cold.

I haven't had bad food here. I haven't liked a dish, not because it wasn't cooked well, it just wasn't a flavor combination I liked. Service can be fast when crowded or not and slow when it's crowded or not. I generally get the daily special because it comes with soup and a dessert. There is always enough food on the plate.

I rarely give five stars. I reserve five stars for exceptional service, and product, as well as atmosphere. I'll start with the food. The food here is authentic Mexican cuisine at it's finest. I swear they have some ancient secrets that give their food and extra zing. Everytime I leave here I leave with great feelings and great expectations of the next visit. The seasoning choice is spot on and the proportions are ample. The service here is exceptional the servers and wait staff are helpful without hovering. The atmosphere is festive without being intrusive to your thoughts. This is a place for family, or a first date. They have clean everything including the restrooms. The prices are moderate and affordable. They have something tasty for any budget. I do highly recommend this restaurant if your in the area and especially if your not lol.

Delicious food and homey atmosphere. The waitresses were very friendly and brought us some chips and salsa right away. All the food was delicious, tasted like something you get from your mom or abuelita. The burritos are huge! Definitely big enough to share/split.

It is a great Mexican food restaurant! Last week, March 2014, while in Tucson with two of my kids, we tried this restaurant. We are from about 1000 miles north, so when I drove up, the bars on the windows had me slightly worried. (Fort Collins is a milder community than south Tucson.) I am glad we went in. The food was great - this is what we were looking for. Very affordable. Clean. Well decorated. I have absolutely no complaints. This is a good place.
One bonus... our waitress was a woman that chatted away in Spanish the whole time. She knew English, but her use of Spanish really added to the experience for us. That was how she communicated with everyone. It really felt south of the border feel.

Sit at table of your choice. Service was good. Waitress was patient and helpful. The food was very good. I had casuela, it was loaded with shredded meat! 2 people filled for about 25 bucks.

Prices have gone up, not a great value any more (most entrees $10-12, soup bowls $10, smallish tacos $4 each ), which explains the smaller crowds compared to a few years ago. But food is still very good, home style cooking. They need a kids menu, or at least more ala cart items, to soften the blow of the high prices when taking the family along.

Went here yesterday for the first time and was very happy with the food. I ordered the Tacos dorados with chicken. To my great surprise I finally found a place that gives the best rice and beans to date. I been to many Tucson Mexican restaurants and for me this by far are the best. This alone makes me a repeat customer.
The place looks decent inside, was clean, and the service was great. My family came around 1pm so I'm not sure how service is during a busy lunch rush or dinner.

I used to eat here a lot as a kid (about 20 years ago) and it’s just as delicious as I remember it. The tortas are the best and the bean dip is literally what dreams are made of...you read that correctly, they make dreams out of bean dip. Very friendly staff. Just all around affordable and delicious food.

Took 45 mins wasn't even busy, waitress did her best, the cooks were slow. Order a cheese crisp half with green chili, when it came, it had green chili on the entire crisp, sent it back all the cooks did was pull off the green chili�. My 6 yrs grandson could taste the chili and could not eat it, very disappointed with the entire meal. Poor waitress tried her best, we still left her a decent tip.

Too expensive. I was surprised by all the added charges. Service was poor. I was ready to walk out after waiting 10 minutes for someone to come take our drink order and almost 15 minutes for the waitress to bring the drinks. I won't be back...

We were in Tucson for a week and ate at El Indio twice. Both times the food, the service and the Margaritas were excellent. The portions we're more than adequate. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Mexican Cuisine.

Service has gone down here the lady's use to be fast and tend to there guest now it seems like there to busy I waited over an hour to be served my food and my silver ware was dirty and no not spots I asked for spoon 3 times be for I got a clean one my drinks took 20 minutes and I am still waiting for the waitress to come around for refill ....they use to make you feel like family here now Idk please fix this

We just came from El Indio Restraunt and will not revisit this place 2 Families left this place as we were there, as there was Maggots that were falling from the roof of the place..2 families walked out...Our waitress didn't come once to see if we needed refills and when we asked for a refill she charged us for each cup and didn't tell us..Our bill was high for only 2 burritos and 2 drinks! She literally told us she was tired and didn't have time to come to our table..but there was hardly anyone there. Ill never eat there again very unsanitary and no good Customer service..

I have never gotten anything I haven't loved. Caldo de queso, potato tacos and the enchiladas are my favorites, but everything is great and things of good for the money. One of our favorite places to go.
