Review Nico's Mexican Food - Tucson

Delightfully Gnarly
Food was sooo good. Had Chicken Chimichanga (shown in photo) and Chicken Taco. The flavor of both was outstanding. The chimi was lightly fried and not crispy like I've had elsewhere but the flavor was so good I did not mind. Refried beans were delicious. I wish I knew how they cook the chicken for the tacos - each bite of chicken was a flavor bomb. The style of Mexican was a bit different than I'm used to - that being Sonoran Mexican, with sour cream or cream cheese sauces. The one sauce they have here is red. But again I did not mind because it had such good flavor. There are two tables outside and we enjoyed our dinner while enjoying the gorgeous scenery of the mountains, easily visible from our table. I looked at a lot of reviews for 'fancy' restaurants before we decided upon going casual and coming here. Glad we did.

This one on La Canada is really good. Loaded meat burritos, i suggest a carne asada burrito. The sauses are nice and fresh. Must go!!!!

Amazing bean and cheese burritos and Super Fries! Great place to stop by over the years.

Friendly and typical quick service atmosphere. I think my meat could have been a bit more seasoned but filled my belly very well.

Looking at some of the other reviews I guess we hit the right time. The food was great, the service was amusing ( cashier just looked at us and said this is yours) and for the amount of food you get the price is good. Most people getting food when we did were to go orders. I would recommend the food. 😁

we always go there, at least twice, during a visit to Oro Valley

I usually go to Noco's for the breakfast burritos, specifically #1 & #4. They are incredibly tasty, massively portioned, and overall a great value for the price. I've been eating here for years and years and have yet to get a bad meal from them.

I pretty much get the same thing Everytime. Shedded Beef Tacos and a bag of spicy carrots and Jalapenos. Always very good. Staff knows me well and is always pleasant and on top of it. The manager is older and male and serious, not cranky like I read in some reviews. Greet him like a human and you will find he is very pleasant and knows his business. I like him.

This is not the pinnacle of ambiance. It's fixed location para-food truck food. It is clean, bright and acceptable. The food is superb. The prices are very reasonable, and the portions are phenomenal. I love the Breakfast Burro. It is a burro in size not a burrito. It's a go to quick fix for Mexican cuisine cravings. Thanks for the great food.

I've been to different burrito places here in Tucson, so far this one is best. You get a even amount of everything inside the burrito. Other places you get tons of cheese, and a tiny bit of bacon. Not in this location.

Cold and stale food. We live close and years ago they use to be good. The food now is served cold a lot of the time, tortilla is stale, and I ordered a California burrito it was a potato burrito there was maybe 5 to 6 pieces of meat in this burrito I will drive to a different location instead of wasting my money at this one.

Carne Asada is the best. I just love the Carne Asada Burro, it is the best in town! I appreciate the fact that you very rarly bite into a chunk of fat which is common at some many other small places. These are some hardworking folks in here. I really need to try something else here but never get past the tasty Carne Asada burro.

Quick Fresh and delicious! It's a great place to grab a quick bite and drink then go! It's all very fresh, so I love it! ****

Cheap & Awesome. There are certain people in the world who do not realize we share our surroundings with all kinds of bacteria, microbes, dirt, etc...and need to be super clean, even though the rest of the world does quite well without everything we have in America...as in paranoia..so. Let's get this out there, for anyone foo foo, who refuse to eat at local places out of unwarranted cleanliness fears, have to have a chain name behind them to give them a false sense of security, must be waited on, eat on linen, feel they only get good food when they are ripped off on prices, etc..Nico's is not for you. While every Nico's I have been in has been clean, friendly, fast, with excellent food, I know people who refuse to eat at any local small chain such as this because they smoke too much bacteria crack and they are seriously missing out.

Nico's is a fast, friendly, down to earth taco stand that serves up fast, economical and wonderful food..if you need to pay more for your self esteem...that leaves more room for the rest of us!

We have tried many of their menu items and we are never disappointed. My better half and I usually cannot even finish ONE combo plate and take the rest home. We have eaten at 4 Nico's around town and they are all wonderful. We can even get out of the door spending less than $10 and feeling full. Their burritos are around $4.99 and their plates range from under $8 to about $12. ...and as I said, one combo is enough for two people...crazy, but true. Their menu is also quite large with pork, beef, chicken and sea food options.

I grew up with an Hispanic aunt and I love Mexican food...Nico's is an awesome place to come as you are, pay a little and get a great meal.
