Wonderful environment for the whole family. The menu had yummy options for breakfast and lunch. Prices were reasonable. Good was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive. Nice choice for something homemade versus the chain restaurants. I'll be back!

This place is awesome! First time here, gave it a shot and happy i did. Seated right away on a Sunday morning, coffee within a minute and back to take my order. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you receive. Service was very friendly and attentive. Definitely a must stop.

MY GOSH! WHERE DO I START? (Yes, I'm shouting! It's that good!)
I'll make this simple:
Manhattan Club $9.99
ham, turkey, lettuce, tomato & mayo on toast with fries!
I've always ask: "Why take PICTURES of your food?! Just eat it for Pete's sakes!"
I learned: Because the Sandwich is THAT GOOD, and THAT IMPRESSIVE!
ANY TIME I'm in Tucson, I stop at the Happy Rooster for a Manhattan Club!
WOW! It's GOOD!

Great little neighborhood diner, serving breakfast and lunch. Pancakes are awesome! Staff is among the best in all of my dining out experience. We like to sit in the "jail" area ๐

Had the chicken fried steak. Looked to be the out of a frozen box type. Home fries were good. Service was good. I would be back to try something else. It is worth a visit. Biscuits and gravy were ok. Too much gravy piled on the biscuits. This is an old school cafe.

This restaurant feels and tastes like mama's kitchen. The service is absolutely great. Comfort food 100%. The prices are very affordable.

I didn't take a picture of my food before because I was hungry and yeah it filled me up good. Burger and rings.
Wife ordered omelette with fries and we are both happily full and satisfied.
Been going here sporadically for the past 4 years and always leaving here happy. Waitresses are very charismatic and cool. I waited a little longer then I wanted but the restaurant was full on sunday at noon so 100% understandable and our waitress was attentive.
Great brunch, absolutely will come here again and again with my wife/family/friends. Also the iced teas were ๐

A trip to the Eastside sent us for the first time to Happy Rooster. This was originally a DMV office, so real vintage Tucsonans will be excused for trying to use the north door, which was the original entrance to pay for their car registration. Note: the only door is on the south end. A large sign to that fact would help.
Once inside, we were warmly greeted by the ladies. It's was cool and very clean, not a dirty table in sight.
After getting our ice teas in humongous repurposed quart jars, we selected from the vast menu of items. My bride had the hot lunch meat loaf with fries, toast and coleslaw, substituted for the day's undetermined veggie.
I ordered the French Dip with onion rings.
It was a bit of a wait but the ladies kept our jars full of tea and the atmosphere lent to conversation. At one point, they turned down the music without being asked.
Our food did come hot and right. Her meatloaf was more than generous, it was a Huge portion. She did comment it was a bit too full of veggies, but that's just a personal taste. The abundant fries were done crispy and pleasingly oil-dry.
My French Dip was on a crisped bread with white shredded cheese. Nice touch! The rings were crispy with a savory flavor. I hijacked her toast, which was delectable.
For a finish, I had what they call a Raspberry Mini-cake, she had the lemon version. They were just a monstrous cupcake with a scrumptious fruit frosting. YUMMM.
They were very attentive and asked more than once as to quality and our needs, but were not annoying. We were welcome to stay as long as we wanted, there was no rush to leave.
Happy Rooster is a small building north of 22nd, hiding behind the gas station. Parking is a bit rare but well worth searching for. Go on in,( south entrance, mind you) and take a seat. You will not be dissappointed.

Don't let the outside put you off. Great inside and the staff is super. Food was good and there was something for everybody. The ice tea comes in large Mason jars, perfect for these scorching days. I'm definitely going back
