Great service and atmosphere. Tons of vegetarian options. I had the yuca fries (incredible) and vida bowl. The latter was ok, I highly recommend getting the salsa Verde on the side for added flavour, makes it much better.
Great lunch spot. My daughter is diabetic and was able to find a delicious, healthy dish that met her dietary needs. I had a great burger, and we both enjoyed the iced green tea. Nice atmosphere for a relaxing lunch. Plus they sell the El Charro salsa there, so we were able to stock up on that.
Delicious, fresh, healthy Mexican food with vegetarian options. Great drinks and happy hour. Polite and attentive service. Pleasant indoor and outdoor seating (with gorgeous live edge wood tables). Awesome live guitar during Sunday lunch. What's not to love?
Every time we come to Oro valley, we make it a special point to stop here and enjoy one of the delicious vegetarian plates or salads.
The restaurant has a quaint on somewhat eclectic vibe with comfortable tables and enough space that you don't feel crowded. There's outdoor seating spaces well which would be perfect on a warm evening or for cocktails in the afternoon.
The food is always delicious, with lots of options for everyone, whether you enjoy meat, our vegetarian, or vegan.
I always love their food. They have great flavor and portions. I love going their with my vegan/vegetarian friends because their items start vegan and then you can add meat if you like.
This last visit the service was off from their usual. We only saw our waitress at the start and end of the meal. Another waitress brought out the food and we were not able to get drink refills. Usually they are more attentive. Still one of my favorite places.
This is a Mediterranean/ southwest mix restaurant and they offer excellent meat and vegan options. There jackfruit carnitas tastes just like pulled pork and the protein plus chorizo is delicious. Tacos are delicious ( my wife got the meat variety) I got a build my own bowl with vegan options. Our waiter was on point, made good suggestions and the live music was excellent. A very fun relaxing vibe. Very affordable most plates 12-15.
We tried this restaurant for the first time during our visit to Tucson.. my sister is vegetarian and we found a lot of wonderful options.. I had the 3 tacos dish with chicken and it was so tangy and flavorful, I highly recommend it. The staff was so helpful and kind, the food came in a timely manner... the venue was very pleasant and had great outdoor seating.. If you like Mexican food and you have food restrictions, go to this place, it is sooooo good.
Had dinner here with the family. We ordered the beyond b sandwich and a bowl with beyond carne. The service was great. Extremely friendly and attentive. The food wasn't very flavorful though. The prickly pear lemonade just tasted like lemonade and the portabelo on the sandwich was bland (though nice and crispy). The bowl was more flavorful. I would definitely recommend bringing a coat as it was freezing inside.
The environmental is really nice, the waitress were also very polite and attentive. This was a last minute decision to eat here. The food is good for being a healthy alternatives. The price was decent for the portion size, I don't belive you get free refills since I got charge for 3 drinks, when it was just two of us and we got one refill for ice tea. I didn't see that until I look at the recipe in the car, there not expensive drinks it's just nice to know before hand. The green tea spear mint was really big, and it was decent. I actually like the regular black ice tea a little better. The 3 taco quezabirras was the main dish we tried, was surprisingly good for not having real beef. The avocado was an extra charge but it was a good addition to the meal. We also had Brussel sprout as an appetizer, there was a good portion in the bowl. It was a nice place to try out but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. Not because there was anything bad, it's just not my cup of tea.
We just enjoyed a fabulous birthday celebration at Charro Vida. Our waiter Brennin was very attentive and went out if his way to ensure great service. The food and drinks were fresh, tasty and eye appealing! The atmosphere is also very pleasant highly recommend dining here.
We love CharroVida. I got the jackfruit bbq sandwich with yucca fries and it was really good. My wife got the chopped salad and she loved it. If you're nervous about vegan food, don't be. Go and enjoy. Be brave! (They do have non-vegan options too, if you wuss out :) )
This restaurant has a lot of options for vegetarians. My server, Tyler, was super helpful in answering all of my questions about the menu (I had so many questions). I told him that I've never had jackfruit that I liked, but was thinking of getting it. He offered to go back to the kitchen and get a sample for me. Tyler is a great server; probably the best I've had in a long time. The jackfruit was actually the best preparation I've tried. The texture and flavor were pretty good. I ended up ordering the bowl, with mixed greens, jackfruit, brussels, and calabacitas. Everything has good flavor, but I'm not sure the flavors paired well when mixed together, but alone it was good. It doesn't look like too much food, but it was filling and I couldn't finish it. If I'm back in the area, I may have to stop in again to try some of the other things on the menu.
Editing my review the following day. I woke up this morning with burps the flavor of those brussel sprouts. It's so gross. My stomach feels so bad and I'm on the verge of vomiting. I suspect it's from that meal because of the constant brussel burps.
Went here for the first time over the Holidays. I was surprised there weren’t many people. (It was a Tuesday.) It is a “health oriented” place with a limited menu where you choose a base and then add something to it if you choose. I had the Keto Chile Relleno with Mesquite Shrimp. Delicious! It’s a little larger than my picture shows and simply decorated. Several of the tables were made of cut tree trunks to add to the nature theme of the restaurant. As you might expect with more natural ingredients, the plates are a couple dollars more than the cheap traditional Mexican restaurants. And you get some delicious food that you won’t regret eating.
Wonderful dining experience, delicious vegan food, friendly server, great ambiance. We ordered the 'better b sandwich' and the jackfruit tacos, both were amazing, and the yucca fries were cooked to perfection! Everything was so flavorful. Highly recommend, A+++
I had only been to charro two days before. It was exciting to try another from the trio in the same week. Our server was Danny, and he helped us understand the menu. We also got a free appetizer! If you want a cocktail, full bar is available, just ask your server. We didn't have dessert this time, I was so full I didn't even finish my enchiladas. Yes, they were also amazing the next day.
My favorite vegan place in town! Everything from the dose chips and salsas,to the hemp tamales, jackfruit taquitos, Brussel sprouts and so much more. My absolute favorite thing is the tamales. They sell the tamales 8 for like $22. I love to get that with beans and rice on the side and have tamales at home for a few days. If you haven't been here I highly suggest you visit!!
Fantastic plant-based options! Picked CharroVida because of their mix of vegan and non-vegan options. Thoroughly enjoyed the Thanksgiving-week special: sweet potatoe & butternut squash enchilada with
hola hemp original tamale with salsa verde, roasted potatoes mashed potatoes with shiitake mushroom gravy, street corn and vida brussles. The jackfruit carnitas quesabirria tacos are also stellar. They also have vegan options for the kiddos as well (mine enjoyed the Beyond burger). Ended the night with some of the best churros I've ever had. Highly recommend!
