Review The Dutch - Dam Good Food - Tucson

This is our 2nd time here. Parking is definitely a challenge depending on the day and time. I would recommend calling ahead and making a reservation for sure. Staff was decent. Hostess was very pleasant upon greeting and leaving after dinner. A bit cramped unless you eat outside or 1 of the 3 booths. Full bar setup. Open kitchen in many cases is nice, however, not sure if the ventilation was down both times we ate here as the cooking smoke was rather stuffy, even with the middle bay garage style door opened. Now food wise, excellent. I would recommend the salmon all day. I would highly recommend allowing additional options like if someone wanted shrimp added for a reasonable fee rather than the entire meal being the only way to add something to the meal selection...just a suggestion. If not for the smoke, I would easily 5 🌟.

Loved the appetizers especially, if you can only try one thing here, get the war fries. Unexpectedly delicious combo of fries and peanut sauce is to die for. The duck l'orange tacos were also perfectly balanced bites of ducky goodness. Cocktails were excellent as well. I tried the Quail wellington and my husband had the garlic and lobster pasta. Service was great, comfortable place too

This is a fantastic restaurant in Tucson. All of the wait staff were very friendly. Their menu recommendations were spot on. The food was delicious. Everything was reasonably priced. The restaurant is uniquely decorated with signs and amusing puns. The facility was very clean. There was plenty of parking and it is conveniently located near shopping areas.

Everything we picked out was perfect. Even chose The Bartender drink and surprised us with the best choice, the Quail Wellington and THE Porkchop were perfection. So glad we found this place for our anniversary dinner.

This is my new favorite place in Tucson. If you catch happy hour between 3-5pm, I recommend any of the starters. The jalapeno poppers are the best I've had anywhere and the brussel sprouts are nearly perfect. The shrimp skewers were amazing as well. As for the meals, they are mostly better versions of some traditional foods. The breakfast bowl is a gourmet scramble with amazing sausage and the madam Croque is a better version of a Monte Cristo. Everything I have had so far is great. The portions are good and the price is definitely fair for what you get. One of the best happy hours in town. You just have to get there before 5pm.

We were asked if we made a reservation, which we did not but we got the nicest table in the place. Wanted one of everything so we ordered a salmon cake to start then split the eggs Benedict and the a l' orange duck tacos. The salmon cake was delicious, the eggs Benedict were the best we've had in Tucson, the hollandaise sauce was phenomenal and the tacos were amazing with the perfect crunch. Our server was also super nice and quick (Ashley), we will be back!

Love the vibe in this place! Very relaxed and unfussy. Ordered the steak salad and applie pie, both were delicious. The apple pie is very visually appealing. I was disappointed with the crab cakes, which had a ton of pieces of shell and just didn't taste right/fresh. I would avoid those in the future but our other food was great. Service was just right, they checked on us but didn't come by too often. There is a full bar here with lots of inventive cocktails.

First visit, loved it. Very short wait on the walk-in on a Monday night, with lots of patrons at the bar. We had an appetizer, the salmon risotto, the Dutch burger, and, a couple of drinks, about $80 before tax and tip . No issues with our service dog. Had no difficulty eating Gluten Free, with the menu items clearly marked (gf). The service was very friendly, although we did have to prompt our server on GF needs. Note that they have GF bread to make any sandwiches GF, and they have a few GF desert options. We'll be back, and I'll try to update the review next year.

The Dutch - DAM Good Food Great replacement for what used to be Pita Jungle. First off, huge shout out to our server for an amazing experience tonight (ask to sit in Edy's section-- awesome service). Food was good-- we had the prime rib French dip, the Popper Grilled Cheese, and a delicious beet and goat cheese salad. For something sweet, we had bread pudding and the apple pie. We will definitely be back to try the Lobster🦞 Benedict. 5 star service and food!

4/13/23 - Tried this place out cause it was close to the hotel. The food was amazing and service was good. I usually don’t order steaks from non steakhouses and even when I eat steaks, it’s usually a filet, not a ribeye. Took a chance and ordered the ribeye. It was cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and not too fatty. The spicy chimichurri was delicious. The potatoes were tasty and the crème brûlée was top notch… it was a tad thin but still delicious. Left here feeling fat and happy.

Excellent and ample servings. I had the Chicken Salad Croissantwich (they make their own croissants) which was tasty and came with a large amount of fries. My companion opted for the Dutch Breakfast which he really enjoyed. Nice building, excellent, friendly waitress. Will definitely return.

I had the prime rib and an appetizer of Brussel sprouts. I was surprised to find that the prime rib was so good that I could cut it with a butter knife very easily. It was better than the prime rib at El Corral (which is widely known for theirs). Customer service was great and the menus give a rustic, old fashioned feel. It has a little history of how the restaurant was born into existence. The food prices range from pouper to prince, so anyone with all budgets can enjoy their dining experience. They also have a wide variety of things to choose from. Will definitely be back when I come back to Tucson!

The beet & goat cheese salad was phenomenal!! They were out of lobster ravioli, so I was disappointed I couldn’t try that. Tuesdays is lobster day, so I decided to try the lobster roll, it was ok. The bacon took away from the lobster. Great local wine available. I will be coming back to try that lobster ravioli

Great place for some authentic Dutch foods. I loved the fries (war style) with great tasting sateh sauce, and the bitterballen were so good too! Staff was very friendly.

Lunch outing with my bestie. We split the chicken salad croissant sandwich. We each got our own dessert, I had Creme Brule and she had Dutch apple pie. All delicious! Good service. Nice place to visit.

NICE place to get brunch. Lots of indoor and outdoor space. I had the Dutch breakfast (sandwich) it was a very pleasant surprise. The presentation was nice and did not give away the secret for the first bite. It was an unexpected party for the taste buds, yum 😋. Compliments to the chef for arranging flavors that explode in your mouth and make you want more of it! Again yummy!

This restaurant was amazing, and we will be back again. Let's start by first talking about the hostess. My family saw the place from the street and thought to give it a try. We walked in and were promptly greeted. We didn't have reservations but were still seatedand the hostess told us very kindly that Friday's and Saturday's were busy; although we were seated promptly, they get busy and to make reservations. We were sat and our waiter was not only friendly, making recommendations, but fast. The food. You can tell that the chef and his sous-chef are passionate about this food. The food I will be raving about for a while. The food have combinations I was skeptical about but man was it amazing. My kids tried and loved dishes that their growing taste buds needed. We have a restaurant that we will be definitely will be coming back to in the future.

We have visited twice and had an excellent experience both times. I tried the squid ink pasta, and it was briny and creamy in the best way. The arugula added a wonderful bitterness, while the sweetness of the sundried tomatoes rounded it out. My sigificant other had the porkchop. It was perfectly carmelized, and cooked to juicy perfection, while the apples and saurkraut served to brighten the dish and the sauce (which we dipped everything in) tied it all together. We can not wait to try the chefs table.
