An unassuming little spot in the strip mall, that when you walk in takes you back to old school diner days. The menu has several unique breakfast items and lots of Gluten Free items. I ordered the waffle and house bacon, the Hubs had the steak and eggs. All were prepared to order (I had an eyeshot to the cook) and you could clearly see they take pride in the presentation on the plate. The bacon was the bomb and my waffle DELICIOUS. The Hubs got some salsa for his steak that he said was very tasty and freshly made. It was a hike for us coming from Vail but so glad we did!

Was passing through Tuscon and this place came up on a few sites. I'm glad we made the stop. Our server was a younger guy, very friendly and attentive. There was also a nice lady there with blonde hair, I think, that was telling us about the artist featured on the walls.
I ordered what was basically a Reuben with a twist: corned beef on a roll with sauerkraut and nopales, jalapenos, a chile sauce and peppered cheese. It was unbelievably good and I wish I could get it again.

Colorful but bare bones ambiance, however the food is excellent! We stumbled upon this place accidentally and were pleasantly surprised. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The menu is unique and interesting. We are vegetarians and there are a good handful of veg options. For meat eaters, there are unique offerings including bison dishes. Sounds like everything is made from scratch. Very good value for great food! Will definitely be going back.

This place is a huge hit during the morning and early lunch rush. Huge assortment of waffles and you can customize most plates with a choice of salsas and house made sausage.
The service is fast even during rushes. The table hot sauce has a nice tang to it but could be too hot for most people. They offer prickly pear tea and lemonade too. The staff could be a little more professional though. 🍐👌

Hadn't been here in years but stopped in this morning for a quick bite to eat with the hubby.
He got Huevos Tiraditos: grilled corn tortillas topped with grilled cheese, beans, eggs and green or red chili sauce. He had no complaints and loved the grilled cheese enveloping the meal...about $9 and worth every penny.
I got a simple Early Bird Special: two eggs, a piece of toast and an unlimited amount of coffee for under $3!
The atmosphere is laid back and a total mom and pop joint. You walk in, sit yourself and let the waitress know what you want to drink. Margie was our waitress and she was great.
They have basic tables and chairs but REAL CLOTH napkins and silverware.

Quick breakfast. Server was bright and friendly, food was very prompt. (Even by breakfast standards) The iced tea was mediocre, I perused the menu and although delighted by the ideas, was simply looking for common breakfast fare. But the eggs were dirty, badly cooked in what i guess to be previous cooking attempts would call pan oil. Now it was just dirty, greasy lump sitting on half hearted hash browns. Sausage was flavorless and without much texture. The rye toast was actually burnt and dry, dry dry. (I know rye is tough, but a brush of butter would so improve) i had high hopes. Left disappointed.

This place is a hidden jewel for native american cuisine. I love their very spicy flavors. The green corn waffles are seriously good here and they make their own sausage. Definitely a must try!

My family and I go to Mother Hubbard's a lot. Since working there was my first job in Tucson more years ago than I want to remember, it has changed a great deal--it is definitely no longer the basic good cheap food greasy spoon that it was then. New ownership and very creative cooking has made a big difference. Since the family are made up of a vegetarian, sometime vegan and enthusiastic meat eater of the younger sort, we aren't all THAT easy to please--but MH does it. We have yet to have a bad experience with either food or service. I don't know where the last opinions have come from--sorry to hear them, but they won't keep us from our favorite weekend restaurant. We live in a part of town that is currently inundated with good restaurants, but still make it up to Mother's for some of her great food. I suggest that you do too!

I went to Mother Hubbards for the very 1st time this morning. Went there on someones advice. The waitress accidentally gave me the wrong menu--the OLD menu that had all the Mexican Breakfasts listed. When i ordered one of the listed Mexican breakfasts ("Texica") she said it can still be made. I loved it and now will be a returning customer.

Went herre for breakfast this morning. Food was really good, service good but slightly slow. All in all a good restaurant experience. The menu had a lot of tasty sounding dishes, will look forward to more visits.

My dad used to take me here when I was a kid. I'm pretty sure the ownership has changed because the last time I was here the menu is completely different but the breakfast that I loved when I was a kid is still there. This is a very nostalgic and Bittersweet place for me

Fast and friendly with really good food. Kind of lost its "flavor when they updated it from the old "greasy spoon it used to be. Still giving it 5 stars. Worth the trip, especially for breakfast.

Friendly inviting atmosphere, small and cozy. New and inventive waffles. (Only have 3waffles irons) 😐 Staffing was very helpful🙃. Good variety of food.
