The food and service at this restaurant is absolutely outstanding! I'm almost afraid to give a review in case this gem of a restaurant gets so big that they become standing room only. We had a large party, including an infant, and came in an hour before closing and the guy at the counter was very welcoming and friendly. Our food came out in record time, and was absolutely delicious. They are definitely on our repeat list!
Most of Tucson's best ethnic restaurants tend to end up in downtown, midtown, or the south or west sides. An Eritrean restaurant on the east side is a welcome addition. I've tried the ga'at and cabbage dish so far, and both were fantastic.
The food here is delicious, with many amazing veggie options! The injera is also gluten free! We had a great experience, the service was fast and welcoming! We (2 people) got plenty of food( had the veggie combo annd Alicha) and have leftovers for the next day, which we are very excited about! 10/10 would recommend if you want to try something new or if you want very tasty food!
This place has the best Eritrean food. This was my first time trying their food and I would say it’s a 10/10. Highly Recommend. The prices are reasonable and the food portions are perfect to feel you up and have even extra for later.
Came here on a Monday night and it was very quiet as I was the only customer during the time I was there. I ordered the "small" (it's actually a lot of food, just see the photo) veggie combo because I wasn't sure what I wanted exactly and I was fairly hungry. The dishes were delicious! I enjoyed them all, especially the red lentil dish. If you've never been to an East African restaurant, then be prepared to use pieces of the spongy, slightly sour, injera bread to scoop up the stewed veggies (or meats). I ate a lot of it and still had quite a bit left over. (can't wait for lunch tomorrow!) The man who served me (I assume he's the owner) was very polite and the decor and music combine to make a charming and exotic eating experience.
Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of my food. The vegetarian combo was delicious. In addition we ordered a salad which was very fresh and light. We also ordered the sweet bread which is a nice warm savory accompaniment to the meal. A friend ordered a beef dish and enjoyed it very much. I left completely stuffed! I plan on skipping dinner tonight. I will definitely be going back to try some of the other items on the menu.
Wonderful gluten-free food, and great service. Obviously a family run business. They haven't spent a lot on making it a fancy dining experience, but that shouldn't put you off from wonderful food!
Owner was very friendly and helpful in suggesting what to order. Food was delicious! If we lived here we would definitely be regulars!
Huge portions and a great experience. It was a bit hot in the restaurant, but the food made up for it.
Most excellent Eritrean/Ethiopian cuisine in Tucson, and the owner and staff are incredibly kind and friendly. The food is consistently delicious and we are always treated well. Very grateful to have this restaurant in town!!
The owner or chef or whoever is friendly, quick and gives great service. The food is fantastic, really tasty especially if you love spicy food. And the portions holy heck, amazing for their prices. I highly recommend the traditional menu, and the mango juice to go with it. Will definitely be going back again sometime.
Such great food. Had both veggie and meat, both made my stomach very happy. (Two full meals.) Thank you!
