Ordered the works for 4 adults (1 male, 3 females) and I would say it’s more for 5-6 adults! It was very delicious and filling, we had leftovers to take home.
Service was quick and staff was very nice. Highly recommend checking this place out for lunch or dinner.

This was my first time having Ethiopian and it was amazing! My husband and I shared a combo for 2 and LOVED it! The food was delicious and they even brought out some rice and lentils for our toddler (free of charge). We ended our night with Ethio Lattes and I cannot recommend those enough! The perfect ending to our night. The servers were so nice and friendly and the food was wonderful. I highly recommend Cafe Desta!

Amazing food, and service. My wife and I have been looking for some good Ethiopian food, so we came here. We were not disappointed. Every Ethiopian dish we knew, and more were available, and tasted great. Even if you are not looking for Ethiopian food, everything is great. We got the works, so we tried everything, and it was amazing. The service was also superb. I would recommend getting the Works, so you can try all their amazing foods, and end the night with an Ethio Latte. You will not be disappointed!!!

I love that they are seemingly always open. Very reasonably priced. Charming ambience. Really beautiful building. They have great juices and if you prefer beer or wine with your meal you can byo.

Really great Ethiopian restaurant! We ordered "the works" and the lamb tibs. Lamb tibs were definitely my favorite thing on the table, but literally everything was so delicious! Great place to bring folks with a diverse set of eating restrictions. We had a couple vegetarians and everyone was happy! Also the mango juice was very fresh and delicious.

Excellent food, excellent service. The 4 of us had The Works, a sort of a sampler plate that really gives you a taste of everything and everything is good, really good.
The spicy food was good and bearable, not super spicy.
My first time going to an Ethiopian restaurant and it was wonderful. I would come here again on my next visit.

Wow! I was blown away by this excellent place.
I had no expectations on the flavors or options, but did know that we should have the combo for two and select the dishes.
Their spicy food is decently hot, but not overly spicy. The spicy chicken was amazing!
Eat with the utensils if you want but I ate with my fingers using the bread as a gripper.
Mint tea was great! As was their spiced tea.
We will be back and can’t recommend it more.

I live just around the block and this is a favorite place for any mealtime or a quick coffee stop. The chicken entrees are my favorite - Alicha Doro and Kaye Doro. When it comes to coffee you can’t go wrong - their lattes & mochas are so good! Plenty of vegetarian AND vegan options, also!!! No matter what you order it’ll be flavorful and filling. Plus the service is always great, they have some very cheerful and wonderful employees :)

A great Ethiopian spot close to downtown! While I haven't had a lot of Ethiopian food in my life, the food here was quite good. The food was fresh and hot, and was prepared very quickly. I'd definitely recommend this place as a spot to go to with folks who like Ethiopian or who like to try new foods. And there is plenty of street parking nearby :-)

This is my favorite Ethiopian resturant in Tucson. Always excellent food, always great service. The ambiance leaves something to be desired, but I just go for lunch and not dinner for that reason.

Sweetest folks working here! We visited on an early Friday night and sat on the patio. It was my first time trying Ethiopian food! We tried The Works platter and it was huge but definitely enough for 5 people to share. Also, it is best to come with friends as Ethiopian food is traditionally enjoyed communally, with your right hand instead of silverware (but they will kindly provide forks upon request). Don't miss out on the experience though by using a fork! Every plate comes with Injera, which is sort of like if you made a pancake and then opened it in half like a book. You get that air bubbly, soft inside- that's what the texture of Injera is like, and it tastes similar to sourdough bread. Each sample on the platter tasted so different, my favorite was the yellow chickpea/yellow split-pea and the non-spicy chicken. A lot of the flavors reminded me of authentic Mexican food so anyone who enjoys Mexican will likely enjoy Ethiopian. At the end, they surprised my friend with a slice of almond cake and a lit birthday candle. Not only that, but they brought enough slices for the group. Definitely recommend and definitely worth a try! Oh and the ladies bathroom is covered in huge mirrors which is pretty cool:-)

Ethiopian food. It was awesome. Great service. Ethiopian coffee was delicious. So many choices. Any vegetarian would be happy here. My favorite item was the green beans, and two choices of lentils are on the menu and were delicious. I dined with my daughter and she has returned several times since our initial visit! I will be doing the same.

My wife and I went last Saturday night around 6pm. The restaurant had five or so people seated. We were taken to a table promptly by a friendly gentleman. We ordered a two person combo with five of there vegan options. It did take a fairly long time to get our food and the waiter accidently took it to the wrong table. He corrected the mistake and brought us our food. The presentation was nice. We enjoyed the gomen, kosta, tikil-gomen, misr and kik. It also came with two side salads on the platter. We did not have a beverage.(just water) We would have had dessert and coffee but the did not have a vegan dessert option. I would recommend trying the place out.
