A definite must in Tucson! Great good for all seven of us Saturday night, great service, and we liked the atmosphere. Some padded chairs would be great though. We'll be back again soon!
Great hang for happy hour if you live in the Ventana/Sabino area. While you're sipping on one of their tasty cocktails, count the number of BMW's, Mercedes, Porches, etc., in the parking lot and count your blessings: Life is good in the bubble.
Happy Hour runs 4-6 pm. They do half-price on bottles of wine on Monday and offer a yummy fried chicken dinner on Tuesdays. I've only recently rediscovered Commoner after many years (2016?), and the service is great. Bar staff friendly and helpful and Marcus (I think that's the manager's name) is the best.
The food is excellent! We got the fried chicken sandwich and burger and were both impressed. We got the butter cake for dessert, which was surprisingly good! Our food was excellent boosting an otherwise 4 star review to a 5. The restaurant was absolutely freezing, and the seats aren’t particularly comfortable. The service was okay, nothing great.
Chef Anderson and the brigade performed magnificently...
The appetizers(shrimp polenta, artichoke dip)and entrees were delicious. The desert, chocolate mousse & butter bar with fruit... wonderful.
One of the best restaurants in Tucson. Food and drinks are fantastic. A great date night spot. Don't leave without ordering the goat cheese tart.
Enjoyed our first visit to Commoner & Co. We had a reservation & they accommodated a special request which we really appreciated! Thank you!
The Mussel Appetizer was delicious (spicy), meal came quickly & was delish... Shrimp scampi pasta & Flat Iron Steak w parmesan fries, limited and delicious menu (we appreciated that as well!) with awesome service... Thank you to our server Alex!
We intended to have dinner but their small plates menu was so impressive that we ordered ALL of them. The empanadas are generously stuffed, the crust delicately delicious. And the Mediterranean tacos are inspired! Also inspired is their cocktail menu. Thoroughly enjoyed the sweet kick of "The Lady is Always Right." Staff works fluidly to keep water glasses filled and food coming. Made our happy hour realllly happpeeee!
Fantastic food and craft cocktails. I Tuscon for a couple weeks and I will be back! We samples the Muscles (order extra bread to soak up the delicious broth) Brussels Sprouts, Artichoke Dip and the Caesar Salad. The bartender was engaging and delightful.
I’m convinced this restaurant is incapable of serving unexciting food. They even make carrots (honey glazed with candied walnuts and bleu cheese) taste like the best Thanksgiving side dish you’ve ever had. If you love great food without the smoke and mirrors and indulgence of other restaurants, you will love Commoner & Co.
So I took my love to an anniversary dinner. Never been here, only heard of this place, due to out recent visit to their sister restaurant pep and pastry. Not only was the food excellent the atmosphere, and the people were amazing too. Got greeted as friends by all the servers. The bar tender was great and prepare delicious drinks, while he was a server too. Also, best shrimp Scampi I have ever had. Forgot to take a picture of her chicken dinner but it was equally delicious. Dessert, was out of this world too. Perfect flavors, and both dessert and my girl's plate were recommendations from the servers. Just beautiful looking food, and it was amazing. On top of it, since we made reservations for anniversary, we got one of the dessert plates free. Great place. Stop wasting time and taste the deliciousness.

We were stuck a resort with really mediocre food. I searched for close by restaurants with high ratings. We took an Uber, and were so pleased. The staff (Jeremy and Nate) took really good care of us. We loved it so much, we returned the following day! Why mess with success. Excellent dishes include the goat cheese tart, pumpkin gnocchi, sambal beef and fried chicken.
Love the bar area. Food is fantastic. Some portions are small but the staff and food is well worth the trip.
Good food. Got the artichoke dip (fairly large and a good deal during happy hour) and the sambal braised beef. Both were great, the dip was probably the best artichoke dip I've had, and was served with some nice toast. The sambal beef was slightly too salty in my opinion, but otherwise very delicious (served with collard greens and goat cheese polenta). The restaurant interior is nice, but the tables were a little too close together. Would come back! The food is definitely a great deal for the price, so long as you're not ordering a steak, anyway!
Came to Tucson to escape the hospital rare winter storm of Texas. Came here for the first time for drinks and some appetizers. Omg! We loved it! The flavors are amazing . We had the mussels and I wish I could take that Thai curry sauce home in a bottle! The chicken satay was amazing. We also had the pretzel appetizers.
Despite the fact that we haven’t eaten out much in a year and are desperate for a variation from our boring home cooking, this place was truly amazing .
The pictures don’t do it justice!
Came for easter brunch, they had a special shortened menu. Everything looked great, and we ordered the burger and the cornbread with gravy. Really good. The highlight was definitely the mimosas though, they had some flavors I have never seen before. Apricot and smoked vanilla was my personal favorite. We sat at the bar because we had no reservations. Tender was pleasant and responsive. This might be my new favorite brunch spot.
