Review Diablo Burger - Tucson

El Guapo
I really enjoyed this restaurant. First thing, the size of the burger is deceiving. Compared to fast food burgers, it looks small, but it's thick and, by weight, it's bigger than a quarter pounder. Medium rare is ideal, since the meat is 95% lean...it could be a bit dry if you have it prepared well done. Our burgers were prepared as ordered and very delicious, and we liked that the meat is grass fed and no antibiotics. My wife ordered the gluten free bread and was very pleased with it. The fries were fantastic as well, especially if you use the dipping sauces. My order of the burger and fries was filling. Our waitress was outstanding and curtious. The tap beer was only three dollars a pint during happy hour. The atmosphere was very chill and comfortable...we kicked back and watched people walk downtown through the large front windows. Also, try the different types of dips for your fries. We will definitely visit again next time we're in town. Also, we really like their business model of being local, such as all items sold are from nearby sources.

Nice place downtown. Quality of the burger was excellent. Fries were good and salty. Homemade condiments were tasty, especially the honey mustard. Bartender paired my food with my beer perfectly. Definitely recommend. Fries were a bit too salty for me, otherwise and easy 5 stars.

Popular place to get some amazing burgers! The homemade sauces and fries were wonderful! Service was relatively quick with how busy it was. Place did fill up while we were here. An excellent place to check out if you're in the area!

For what you get it's not much to fill your stomach but nonetheless it's a quality burger to be had. The fries were also awesome paired with their home made ketchup sauce which were a great pairing. The ketchup was sweet and tangy while the fries were crunchy and zesty with spices. My only gripe was that I felt like the burgers could be a tad bigger.

WOW! What an awesome spot! We came in on a Wednesday night and were sat almost immediately. Fair warning, this place is small so I can see them being on a wait for busier nights. We sat at a shared table with another couple of people but that's how it is here! The tables were made from old bowling lanes as well as the benches. Very cool touch. Our server greeted us and we ordered beers. There were 4 or 5 on-tap so you better know what you like! They had a red, ipa, some golden ale, and a cucumber saison. I got that and it was delicious. But again, know what you like in terms of beer before coming. For food, 2 of my friends got burgers and I got the grilled cheese. IT WAS THE BEST GOD DAMMED GRILLED CHEESE OF MY LIFE. Three types of melty cheese, some hatch chilis, tomatoes, chimichurri and a fried egg on this bread that had cheese on it too. Droooool! Its served with their house made fries and a pickle. Worth every cent of the $10 it is. I would pay more. I also got a side of hatch green chili mayo to dip the fries in and my bf got a side of curry mayo. Both delicious. I will 100% be back and now that they're opening a location in PHX, it may be sooner than I thought!

Visited last week with my husband(Who is a great chef himself). We are from Texas so naturally when it comes to beef we have high expectations. The environment is appealing, great for groups(at the right time, since it is a bit small). Really loved getting a chance to try some local items, I haven’t seen a lot of those options in any Tucson burger joints. And have always been a bit weary on eating burgers in this town in general after taking suggestions to visit Lindys(Absolutely horrid on all levels). At first we were a bit skeptical about the bun, but were pleasantly surprised by the flavors. The staff is congenial and attentive. Everything tasted absolutely unique and amazing. Portions were large enough to even stuff my husband(who was very thankful to have a burger cooked rare). Impressed with the creativity, and will return with more Texans!

Great burgers! Worth the prices for those that wonder. Good cold beer. I had a make your own with Hatch Chile mayo, roasted garlic, a fried egg, and so much more. If you're downtown check it out.

Small modern rustic burger joint on Congress. Excellent service. We sat at the bar and had a couple of Arizona brews from Ten 55 and Harbottle. The burgers are made with all natural local beef. The Blackboard Special today was the Centennial with an excellent tequila prickly pear glaze and bacon wrapped Anaheim chili. This was a great find in downtown!

Let's see here....the ingredients are on point which is even more unique here because it's all 100% local AZ grown. Secondly the location is flawless...literally across the street from Hotel Congress and all the action. Highly recommend this local burger joint, stay hungry my friends

Ive held off doing a review for awhile and have visited this restaurant to try their changing Blackboard Specials a few times. It has always been great but what is surprising is that it just keeps getting better each time. Uniqueness and flavor is what you can expect. Their in house ketchup and other condiments just add to the wonder that is their food. You will not be disappointed, highly recommended.

I love being able to see the names of the farms and business, where your food is coming from! The burgers are tasty and juicy and the beer selection is great for pairing with a burger!

This was a good place and good burger. Nothing over the top fantastic. But we wanted to try it for a while and finally got here. The burger is a bit small for the buck, but they also give you a ton of fries. The environment is fun and it’s worth a try!

Burger + fries + soda + tip for $20 even. I had the veggie burger with jalapeños and sriracha mayo. Was not disappointed! Fries are delicious and I love the Dijon mustard they have at the table. Glad I chose this spot!

Great burger. Meat was very flavorful. I would say it's the best burger in town. Fries are thinner hand cut fries similar in size to McDonald's. They are fried to a hard crisp so if you are expecting a softer more moist fry you will be disappointed. They are good though. I only have two complaints. One -- the katchup. In attempt to be uber local, they source a wierd smoked tomato paste they call katchup. It's really not that flavorful and is very odd tasting. A good bottle of heinze would actually really help. Two -- the price. Expect to pay at least $22 plus tip for a burger and beer. That's approaching steak prices at nicer venue with more servers. Beers are also expensive.

This is a different kind of hamburger. Rather than using a regular bun, they use toasted English muffins. They are juicy and tasty. If you're downtown and have a little time, pull up a spot at one of the tables, order a beer and a burger and start up a conversation with the wait staff or those sitting next to you.

High class burger, middle class price. Minimalist beer selection has the perfect amount to suit every taste. The burger is served on an English muffin that allows the patty to be the star of the show. The serving size is perfect and I didn't leave feeling like I would burst out of my pants. The fries are to die for and the atmosphere has a vintage, upcycled feel; the bar counter is an old bowling alley lane. If you're in town, this is definitely a place worth checking out.

Diablo Burger is one of my favorite places to eat in Tucson! I went to go grab a bite for lunch and was pleasantly surprised to see that they have a lunch menu. You can still order from the normal menu, but if you're looking for a quick bite that is a little more cost efficient, you can get a burger and fries for $9. That's like going to Mcdonalds but MUCH better quality! One very underrated aspect of the meal you'll get here is how delicious the fries are. They are cooked and seasoned to perfection.

Fantastic place to grab a bite, the burger was gone in seconds and I couldn't stop eating the fries! Will be going back next time I'm in Tucson!
