Good food and atmosphere. The server was really good and ensured we had everything. The only suggestion is that they have a really good sauce that comes with their Chimichanga. A little extra would be great, and the taco meat was under seasoned. Price is fair. I will be recommending it to friends and family.

Poco and Mom’s combines the best of Arizona and New Mexico, and the Hatch-chile dishes here are among the best in town. My personal favorite is the chicken-enchilada platter with fried-egg topper — makes me hungry just thinking about it — and I also really appreciate the good service offered no matter the time of day or the table location. Courtyard seating is spacious and inviting, with a fountain and ample greenery, and the inside of the restaurant holds plenty of charm too. Go hungry and leave satisfied!

A friend introduced me to Poco & Mom’s back when it was located in the old El Taco building on Kolb near 22nd. It was already wildly popular. I’ve been coming to the Cantina since it opened and for me, it has been by far the best use of that real estate I can recall. You can dine on the beautiful patio, in the main dining room, or in the cantina bar. They also have a banquet room for large parties. The food is New Mexico-orientated with servers asking you the state question, “red or green?” and understanding if you reply “Christmas”. I made the mistake of discovering the breakfast menu so now I am torn between whether to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner here. My breakfast favorite is the Santa Fe, but everything on the menu is good. The New Mexican cuisine is great, but they also offer an American Breakfast menu. If someone in your party is craving burgers, they serve the standard fare but why not jazz it up with one of their green chile burger recipes? Incidentally, if you love cooking and you love Hatch green chiles, then you’ll love cooking with their Green Sauce. I use it to make my “Sonoran Hachis Parmentier” (or “Hatch Shepherd’s Pie”), but use your imagination — that sauce is amazing and adds a tasty kick to just about anything.

The evening was magical and such a perfect place to reunite with great Friends. The atmostphere on the patio was scenic and memorable. Our Server, Janelle was delightful and so efficient adding to our perfect night. The food was so delicious and I added photos of the generous plates of flavorful delights and a Margarita to top it all off. Excellente!!!!!

Great Margaritas! $5 all summer long. Salsa is fresh and chips were light and thin! There's a beautiful fountain in the back with misters to stay cool and umbrellas. Cute spot and amazing atmosphere! Margaritas were on point! 🙌 The people who were dining around us were great including the guy behind me promoting the margaritas 😜 good time!

We ate lunch on the patio because we had our little dog with us. Dog friendly patio! Awesome Mexican food and didn't have to drive to New Mexico to get it!! We will be back!!!

Very nice place, but I have had way better New Mexican-style food. Bright and cheerful, and busy at noon on a Wednesday. By myself so I was seated in the bar, service was great. Chips and salsa were an extra buck but were pretty good. Ordered a red chile pork burrito with green chili over, and it came to my table in a flash. But- green chile didn't have much heat and looked like chopped chiles from a can, red chile pork was tender but a weird orange color without much flavor or heat.

Compared to the West side, there is not a lot of good Mexican food 'out East'. And the Cantina is actually New Mexican, with a subtly different menu emphasizing roasted chilies and a slightly smoky red sauce. This is a large restaurant with interior spaces and a patio. The service is attentive and there are plentiful beverage options [including RC Cola, which would be a dealbreaker if I ate here frequently]. We ate in the bar and a shout out is due to the staff there who were super attentive. Plenty of parking but a busy part of town coming from Grant or Tanque Verde.

Delicious food! My wife and I enjoyed lunch here after driving the Mt.Lemmon scenic highway in the morning and wanted some local Mexican food. We’d never been to a New Mexican style cantina and really enjoyed the nuances. The atmosphere was great with colorful decor, a large very pretty fountain out back and happy staff. The chips and salsa (which you do have to pay for) were good and we split the New Mexican Combo Plate which had a chili relleno, a shredded chicken enchilada and a red shredded beef taco, along with beans and rice. We added a hard shell taco with ground beef. Everything we ate was very flavorful and tasted fresh. We both liked the red shredded beef the best, and the beans and rice were both delicious! Most Mexican restaurants seem to put beans and rice on a plate as an afterthought or a filler and they’re rarely any good. We both thoroughly enjoyed them here and cleaned the plate! Even though our server made a couple of mistakes her attitude was great and she knocked some money off our bill, so we gave her a big tip. We’d definitely come back here next time we’re in Tucson.
