A Delightful Breakfast Experience at Jax at the Tracks Our breakfast at Jax at the Tracks in Truckee was a highlight of our trip, offering a perfect blend of delicious food, charming ambiance, and excellent service. This diner captures the essence of a classic American eatery with a modern twist.
Good food out of a really cool diner- Drove all the way to Truckee from Napa and was pleasantly surprised when we decided to make a pit stop here. The food was yummy and rich, position sizes were big, prices were fair and ambiance was neat. Felt like we went back in time to the 50’s! The restaurant
All sandwiches and burgers can be put on gluten-free bread. The Ruben was excellent, the pulled pork was okay, the gluten-free bread was good. Our waiter was great and the atmosphere of the diner is fun. I would come here again!
Went for Sunday brunch and only waited 20 minutes. Their staff was very friendly and attentive. However, their food was subpar. The turkey in the Jax Melt was very dry and had no flavor. Their fries, while a generous portion, were unseasoned and soggy. Everything besides the food was good.
I ordered a dish that was called something along the lines of "comfort in a bowl," and my husband ordered a Reuben sandwich. Both of us enjoyed our food. My dish was basically a bunch of vegetables on top of mashed potatoes with shrimp and avacado. Delicious!
After spending a day in Truckee we came across this place that we had to check out the next day for brunch. Glad we did. It's unassuming from the outside but inside is quintessential American diner. From the stools to the service to the food, everything was brilliant. Got the southern fried steak a
I love stopping by this spot whenever I’m in Truckee! The atmosphere of it being on the train tracks is pretty neat and their malt shakes are heavenly. The food in general is pretty good. Typical diner style food. If you’re in the area and have never been, I would recommend giving it a try.
1st time here. The food was good. The staff was friendly, but hardly came around. I would like to come back and try other food items.
JUN 2023: Recommended by a Reno friend and totally worth it! Right off Main Street, clean, lots of seating, helpful staff, no wait, nostalgic decor, and delicious food. Gotta try the homemade mac-n-cheese, huge onion rings and the “Butcher’s Burger” was like a Texas BBQ on top of a cheese burger!
Stopped here for a late evening snack. The place is super quaint and nostalgic. The staff was super friendly and the food was great. I recommend the chili cheese fries. The chili was great. The garlic truffle fries were a hit too. Finished it all off with a chocolate shake. Great end to a perfect da
This place has very large portions, and the food is very reasonably priced.
We had a filling brunch in this diner during one of those snow blizzard days. This placed was packed with folks. We ordered eggs, burgers, coffee and desserts. Everything was delicious and were promptly brought. The service was great. Would love to make it a pit stop on our next visit.
This place was good. I'm sure it deserves a higher score. But my food order was wrong and the chips were lack luster. My friend enjoyed her meal at least.
Nice restaurant to get some good basic food. Burgers were great and I loved the chips.
