The food we had at Cottonwood was very good: the lamb (purple mashed potatoes were nice), the ribeye steak (very flavourful) and the bavette steak (very delicious, with excellent truffle fries). The pork belly starter was particularly good.

This historical venue offers a well stocked bar, creative cocktails, a broad dining menu that's tasty and well presented in a casual yet elegant atmosphere. Great for a date night or celebrations. Kid and family friendly.
I have been thinking about this food since we left. My husband and I were at the Ritz for our anniversary and popped over to Truckee for our celebratory dinner. We made reservations for 7:30 and once we arrived we did have to wait a minute for a seat on the patio, which was totally fine! We ordered
We had dinner here years ago and it was a fail, but we heard the place changed hands and was better, which I can confirm. We had brunch with another couple and all had delicious meals. Service was good, we had a lovely view of Truckee, and we'll definitely be back.
Love this hidden gem in Truckee!! Views from their deck are awesome, plus shade from trees is amazing. Brunch, dinner all delicious! Love all the historic pictures and history, too. Always love seeing the ski jump (in pictures) that used to be next to Hilltop Lodge.
Had a phenomenal experience at this bar. Our bartender Kyle was truly amazing. And to find, he was at work on his birthday!! What a sport. Couldn’t have asked for a better host. He made his special day special for us. Happy 35th birthday to the best bartender ever. Thanks Kyle!!
When my daughter and I want to "go local," this is where we go! Always have the Bacon Bloody Mary! And the food is delicious! Brunch last Sunday was for the 3 of us- Monte Cristo, Eggs Benedict, and a kid's French Toast. All this while we enjoyed one of our favorite views-downtown Truckee. Great pl
Had brunch here today!!! Great views and awesome food. Veggie Tacos were heavenly (didn't think veggie tacos could be that delicious). The bloody Mary though ❤️!
The new owners have kept the ambience of the old Hilltop Lodge and have made some upgrades.
Menu is more constrained but everything is done well. Prices are median, not cheap but not expensive.
