The Caroline

Love the atmosphere, great service. The food is ok. Many items are very good and worth the price, but not where one would go for a more elevated food experience (more traditional, down-home dishes). I find the lunch menu better than the dinner menu. It's a great place for meeting up with friends in a beautiful environment. It's"fancy" but laid back. The staff Is EXCELLENT.

Went on a Tuesday night at 5:30pm with a reservation. Sadly, the wait staff anounced that the restaurant had NO STEAKS! Ordered dinner salad and crab cakes. The salad was very meager in portion. I have had larger side salads at other restaurants! The crab cakes were at best grocery store frozen quality and arrived at the table a bit mushy and lukewarm. The best thing served were the Portobello Mushroom Fries. Those I would go back for but nothing else was even close to the quality of food I had expected. I will say that Jackie our server was very attentive. I have been told that The Caroline is the Best Food in town! I WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I would think twice about going here again. The quality was not worth the moeny.

There was a big party in the back room that seemed to be one big family with limited masking and shoulder to shoulder, but all the staff and everyone else we saw who was in there wore masks until they sat. The tables were nicely distanced. They were wiping down menus The food was delicious. The device was very good. It's the best place to Troy.

The food was tasty; portions were decent for the price. Service was excellent! Really enjoyed our waitress. I suppose the only con I had was the atmosphere wasn't quite what I expected it to be. I'll give it another chance for sure, considering COVID probably is playing a part. I was just thankful to enjoy going out to eat and enjoying some decent food.
