Omg!! This place. I can't believe I never noticed it before.. I lived in the area for 3 years like 10 years ago. I happened to drive by and noticed it and kept it in mind. Me and my husband and toddler went today. It was absolutely delicious. The people hating must just be stingy because it's reasonably priced and we got a ton of food. We did the almond chicken and beef and broccoli meal family meal for t2 added some spring rolls. I had a zombie drink which instantly transformed me back to Jamaica. The place has been around for 50.years and I can see why! If you're going for ambiance go elsewhere if it's for food and a sweet lady that works there than that's your spot. It's classically nostalgic. I know we're gonna be regulars from now on 11/10

This restaurant is robbery. A combination costs $10.50. I ordered a pepper chicken combo with chicken fried rice and 2 hot sauces on side and they charged me $18!!! For that price I could of got pepper chicken and a separate fried rice. She knew I was a new customer and took advantage. On top of the price the quantity size was small. I paid more in Troy than I would in Manhattan NYC, does that even make sense? I asked for an extra soy sauce and the woman was rude and said no. I don’t know what I paid 18 dollars for? Was it the cheap meat used in my food or the poor service? I am never going back and I hope no one ever does either.

In my life Saturdays are set aside for Chinese. Originally being from Rhode Island growing up we had GREAT Chinese food but having lived in Florida for the last 8 years we had BLEH Chinese food. Moving back up north I was excited to have GREAT Chinese food again as everyone says “Nothing beats Chinese food up north!” As I said, I am newly moved to Michigan so I was on the lookout for the best Chinese food in Troy and so to Google I headed. New China was the second place on the list with a high review count as well as a high rating and was located around the corner from where I am staying. I called in an order and at first was taken a back because the lady on the phone just answered with “Hello” and I thought maybe I had called the wrong place but once I asked if this was the restaurant she said yes and asked what I wanted to order. I ordered General Tso Chicken combo for myself and sweet and sour chicken for my boyfriend. I picked up the food about 20 minutes later when she said it would be ready for pick up. Pick up was easy and hassle free. I got the food home and was excited to try Chinese up north once again. Sadly I was thoroughly disappointed. When ordered the woman asked heat level on my General Tso Chicken and I said medium. There was NO heat at all and to be honest it didn’t have any flavor what so ever. The rice was also very bland and the egg roll was stretchy and very salty. The sweet and sour chicken was sitting in a pool of red jello as the sauce was extremely thick and had already became gelatin. This plate as well lacked flavor and was pretty bland. I had high hopes for this place from all of the other great reviews but I was sorely disappointed. I will continue my search for great Chinese in my area.

I always order Almond Chicken. The 1st time it was OK, but this last time it was delicious. I put that you can dine in, but I think you have to call ahead to find out each time.

A server young guy is very nice, but the old lady look like the owner or manager is seem like very rude, acted like upset because we've been there late about 20.30 pm because we don't check the closing time it's our fault. But this kind of owner is bad for the business,,and our fried rice is cold and expensive

We’ve been going here on and off for almost 20 years. Very friendly family who work their tails off! Recently had carry out, despite being short staffed, the food was great!

I've always loved this place but they've changed a few things. I believe their combo meals are now dinner without soup, egg roll, crispy noodles which are all amazing so it was a bit disappointing this time around when all these things weren't part of our dinner. Ordering them a la carte is definitely going to up the total bill.

This place can be a little hard to find. Once you go inside, there is barely any window and you can feel like you’re in the back of a shady mafia run business right out of Rush Hour. But the place is decent. There is a bar in the middle and seats around. The food was decent too, nothing to write home about, typically American Chinese food. The food is on the cheaper side compare to every other Chinese restaurants that are around.
