Fox Creek General Store

The owners here are absolutely wonderful. We stumbled upon this adorable little country store while out exploring around Grayson Highlands on a grey and rainy day. We stayed for lunch which was fantastic! The turkey reuben and pulled pork hit the spot. We will definitely be back on our next visit to the area,

Sarah's Fox Creek General Store is awesome! It's a blend of the old with the new. She has great homemade food, wine, beer, gas, and a bunch of other supplies for locals, bikers, hikers from the Appalachian Trail (it's just 4 miles away) and people enjoying nearby horseback riding camps. It's on VA-16, one of the most scenic back roads in Virginia, close to the New River. I'm going back soon!!

This place is worth traveling to. It is a functioning general store with a selection of pantry items and sundries, but the gem is the food. It is to die for. Homemade, cooked fresh by a woman who really cares and is passionate about it. You can taste the love. She smokes the pork for the sandwiches outside, she cooked cakes and pies fresh. I had a conversation with the two ladies about recipes they are thinking about trying. I was a complete stranger from out of town and they fed me unbelievable food and made me feel immediately at home. I will find an excuse to go back and you should find a way to go too.

We love this stop, and its delicious foods! We camp down the road (at Grindstone) and every time we make sure we visit here for lunch. The Body Shop is our favorite but the turkey Ruben is another delicious sandwich. The Mac salad, bake beans and potato salad are all yummy. We love both Allyson and Sarah, and they’re always so helpful and friendly.
