I was so excited to find a place that really values quality sourdough products! My husband and I don’t eat bread/grains unless they’re naturally leavened, and this really hit the spot. Sourdough pancakes were so good! They had a sourness that reminded me of yogurt and blueberries. The bacon that came with them was so good too, not the cheap floppy/chewy kind you get in restaurants a lot. The duck omelette was also delicious. Service was great for us (last Saturday around 9am). Will go back next time we’re in town!

I came here after fasting for 12 hours to have lab bloodwork done at a nearby doctor's office. Not only was the service friendly and fast, the waitress recommended that I move my car after I asked about parking in the back (it's private to building residents) and let me out the back entrance so I could get to it before the landlord saw it. I had the sourdough pancakes with ham and real maple syrup, and it was DIVINE! I give them five stars and will stop in every time I'm in town.

If you are in Traverse City, eat here! Fantastic food!!! My spouse and I ate a late breakfast there. We split the Roasted Vegetable Bowl - two eggs your way, local vegetables (zucchini, peppers, onions & tomatoes), garlic & Havarti cheese; served with breakfast potatoes & grilled sourdough bread. Unbelievable flavors! Both the fresh baked grilled sourdough bread and accompanying homemade strawberry jam were also delicious. We also split the sourdough blueberry pancakes with a cherry-rhubarb sauce from the daily specials. Never had any pancakes this good. It also came with maple syrup with my spouse used on hers and enjoyed. The service was fast and friendly. Go there; you'll be glad you did!!

Menu is fabulous. Changes often and focuses on local fare. Had the Michigan ham & cheese. Grilled Dearborn ham, white cheddar, bacon, blueberry lavender preserves. Just awesome. Staff is friendly and prices are very fair. Place is really cute. We'll definitely continue to go back!

Quaint cafe/restaurant serving hearty, delicious breakfast choices. Highly recommend the Farmers Omlette; like nothing I've ever had before. Fresh, thoughtful ingredients. Delicious house-made bakery/bread. Sourdough bread is outstanding. Crave-able, give you the "warm fuzzies" kinda food. Go there.

Best gourmet breakfast in TC. Unique omelets, skillets. Home made breads and the sour dough starter is 100 yrs old. They have best gluten free bread I have ever eaten. Home made jam. Coffee is the best too. Many gf and df options.

Try the specials... the pork loin omelet was perfect with grilled apple slices that complemented the pork perfectly. 3/16/2019 so sad to read the Blue Heron 2 has closed. We so depended on the gluten free menu options and consistently good selections over the years. You will be missed so much in our community.

Best lunch in town. Constantly rotating menu, and everything is clearly made from scratch using local ingredients. You can never go wrong here. Make sure to get a Brian's Favorite cookie.

Sad to hear this much loved TC spot has closed, we just enjoyed another wonderful breakfast there last week. Thank you to the BH2 owners for years of truly caring about the quality of the food served, you will be missed. See you in Cadillac.

Food was excellent. I got the classic breakfast (2 eggs, potatoes, toast, and bacon). Amazing but slightly overpriced. My gf got the breakfast ham sandwich. I ate a few bites of it.

Nice relaxed atmosphere, very different from being downtown. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Salmon bowl was delicious, though a little bit too salty for my taste.

Hands down the very best gluten free bread we've ever tasted. You must buy a loaf if you suffer from Celiac's!
