Gutted that this place is likely going away. (The building went up for sale in Aug 2023). So get your diner fix here while you can! The biscuits and gravy were just ok, I’d recommend getting something else. But the eggs, pancakes, and breakfast meats are all good.
I went to a lot of restaurants during our weekends day hands-down this one was my favorite. The food was amazing, the culture was great and they also make a difference to the community. There was a refrigerator outside. They have served over 200,000 people that are in need of food in the community.
Came in town for vacation with family.
Got to enjoy breakfast with friends and family and it was so good!!!
Hash browns we’re wonderfully cooked, perfectly brown.

Feels like a big happy family
My family loved their breakfast especially the corn beef hash. Said it was made to perfection. My granddaughter Sydney loved the western hash browns crispy just she way she asked for and would order again. The server especially Tiffany was so nice and fri
Exactly what you'd expect from a little greasy diner. The crisp on the brioche buns edge PERFECT!!! Seasoning on the meat PERFECT!!! French fries were crispy and great. But...hamburger was slightly dry, overcooked, and I had struggled to taste the chocolate in the chocolate shake. Hence the 4 st

J & S is a staple in Traverse City, Michigan. They're great for late night breakfast and the servers are some of the most patient in the business. They have some awesome baked goods too! I can agree with all the comments of slow service, but when you walk in its a vintage car diner feel and 1 or two servers. You know it's not gonna be fast!
