Location and ambiance can be described as "hole in the wall" but good food is good food. My friend and I came here around 6:30pm on a Sunday night. Lots of seating options available. We ordered a rainbow roll and Hayashi roll, figured named after the restaurant, must be a specialty.
The meal started with complimentary edamame, which is hard to mess up. The rolls came shortly after. The freshness of the fish can definitely be tasted. I wouldn't say I was totally wowed, both rolls tasted good, had good presentation, what more can I ask for?! Prices are average for sushi.
The conclusion of the meal came with complimentary orange slices. Service was good, the waitress came by a couple times to check on us and refilled drinks.
Parking is slightly difficult since the small plaza has limited spaces. Turning out of the plaza, especially making a left was challenging, at the end I just turned right and made a U-turn.
Final verdict is that I'd come back, but only if someone else suggests it.
Don't let the location (next to SUBWAY) and the grungy strip mall turn you away. HAYASHI is a true hole-in-the-wall wonderful dining experience! The restaurant is spotlessly clean, the food excellent and the prices quite fair, plus they have a daily 7-day-a-week 3 - 6 PM 30% off on their premium rolls and beers. My wife and I had dinner here and for $35 (tax and tip included) we had 3 large premium rolls plus a scoop of green tea ice cream that we split between us. GREAT FOOD - Excellent prices made even nicer by the 30% discount. Highly recommended. We'll definitely be back!
Great sushi and great service. Stopped by on business from NY and had a great dinner. Unfortunately, I forgot my receipt and only realized when I returned to NY. I called to inquire about whether they could send me a copy. To my surprise they emailed it over within minutes. Most places wouldn't do that. Needless to say, I was very impressed.
Fantastic sushi. Love the all you can eat dinner. Bring an appetite.
