The steaks get better every week. I had the 18 ounce ribeye, cooked perfectly medium rare and it was outstanding. It was fork tender, melted in my mouth amazing flavor. One the top 5 best steaks I've ever had...I'm hooked ��� And the Mexican food is very good also !!! And, of course Tivoli spelled backwards is "i lov iT" ���
Been going there for over 4 decades. If you want top quality food in a relaxed atmosphere and decent prices CANALES Cafe is the place to go. Friday night is JOE's Outback where you can get a great Rib Eye with all the extras at an unbelievable price. Come on down to Tivoli and enjoy the tradition of CANALES Cafe.
To us locals it is a place for us to gather. We run into people we haven't seen in a while and we are always happy to see them. The food is good especially turkey and dressing day. Everyone knows it's the first Wednesday of the month. It's a family place.
Second time we've been there. It was almost closing time, but they still served us a great meal and had time to talk to us. We'll have to make steak night one of these days.
Steaks are good an atmosphere like you're at home in your patio but someone else is cooking for you
We just ate there for the first time. Really good! Mac was raving about the beans.

You have to go to Joes Steak Night. Good food, great hospitality and not expensive. We go through Tivoli all the time. We've had lunch at Canales a few times. I recommend it. We are working on a bucket list. Joes Steak Night was one of them.
Stopped here for lunch before going to the wildlife refuge. The Mexican food we had was really good. Some of the best guacamole I've had. My husband had the enchiladas and he said they were really great. Would certainly go back.
Great service, and decent food. I had the enchilada plate, everything but the beans were good, wasn't a fan of the beans as they had a weird flavor. Husband and kids all had fried chicken tenders or flautas and were good with that.
What a gem in the heart of Tivoli! Food is wonderful and the staff is really friendly. The restaurant is family owned, so it makes you feel even better eating there.

South Texas' best kept secret is a restaurant in the little town of Tivoli.
Their enchiladas and tacos are far and away the best we have ever had, and their FAMOUS Friday night ribeye steak special is worth the drive from anywhere in Texas! Get there early on Fridays by 5:30 - 6:00 pm.
Come as you are ~ there's nothing fancy about this place. But come hungry.
We can't wait to go back!
