Great food and friendly staff. A hole in the wall that is well worth trying more than once. The papusas are great, as is everything else I tried. I will go back again for sure.
I have been to San Salvador twice and went both times to what the locals said was the best papusaria in town. La Carreta in Thousand Oaks is better. I love the plain cheese papusas, and the casamiento (beans and rice) is too good to describe.
Food is really good , service is good fast and friendly.. the only thing o see is that I always wait about 30 minutes to have my food ready and deliver to the table and if is busy it might take longer.
Otherwise is very nice,clean and tasty.
This is a place where you can actually taste the authentic and closest to the original salvadoran food flavors, at a reasonable and fair price. They also cook your food by the time you order so be patient, but it is totally worth the wait , thank you la Carrera for reminding me of El Salvador and amazing pupusas and tamales🥳👍
Haven't found another place that sells pupusas as delicious as this one! There have been slight memories of other good restaurants and perhaps slightly cheaper but they don't reach the flavors of these right here still. Don't always come here since I live in Oxnard but when I do I come on an empty stomach so I can really enjoy the pupusas. Have never bothered to try anything else on the menu since these are so good. I recommend the cheese with chile/chicharron only/ revuelta(chicharron cheese and beans)/ queso y loroco(cheese with Salvadoran flower)
The food was so good! I loved the vegetarian pupusa. It was made perfectly with the cheese crisp oozing out a crack in the pupusa. The chicken tamale was also delicious with moist chicken inside 😋 Platanos were good, but slightly dry.
