Review Kampachi Japanese Steakhouse - Thibodaux

We had a great experience! The sushi was excellent, tasted very fresh and the portions are large. They also have make they're on unique cocktails(I personally enjoyed the one made with SAKE and cucumber, very refreshing and "lite!" The restaurant is practicing social distancing, and limited seating, so you will need to make a reservation, as well as wearing a mask!

Greetings everyone...allow me to share our family experience at Kampachi. My family was greeted with a warm and inviting smile as we were seated in a timely manner. Immediately I notice on display in a artsy kind of way a variety of appetizers and entrees for consideration. Since this was our first time I was intrigued to try a few . Our awesome and extremely informative server, Paula, not only from years of experience and first hand knowledge recommended several of our courses to try. She explained each one as she showed great care in answering our questions, while sharing which were her personal favorite. She also brought a varity of dipping sauces to sample along with each course. I never had to ask for anything. Paula was very attentive to her tables and knew before hand what would be needed after the initial orders were taken. The food was excellent in taste, temperature, presentation, cost and size. My daughter and I shared most of our food and was not overly full. We were comfortably satisfied with the ambiance, service experience and the management. We shall return for more. Waited 1.5 hours for our food. When we finally got it it was cold. Had to send it back to be heated. Got it back and Chicken was still cold and over cooked. My daughters food was just as cold. First time here and most probably the last. Waitress was nice and kind.

Without a doubt the best Hibachi and Japanese food I've ever eaten anywhere. It's hard to believe that in such a small town in south Louisiana you will find the best Japanese--but start believing it. Service is top notch--my wife and I have never had a bad experience with any of the wait staff. We are always seated promptly and treated with kindness. The owner and the manager are always walking around to make sure everything is fine at EVERY table and thanks you for coming and welcomes you back. The food is superb. I'm a huge sushi guy and I am always interested in trying out the vastly different combinations they come up with. The hibachi side of things--I have witnessed many of their chefs and personally they have all been perfect. The food was always done exactly how I requested. If you are looking for a great Hibachi or Sushi place--this is the best the world has to offer.

Selection of sushi was great as well as the service. Price is reasonable and portions were fair sized. I would recommend to anyone in the area looking for sushi. Also they have hibachi but looked rather small probably perfect for a private party as it looked to be in a room by itself.

We enjoyed the hibachi plate from the dining room. It was flavorful and nicely textured. Service was friendly, casual and accurate.
