This store is phenominal. I place a large order for emergency staff at Bay Area Regional. I got fajitas for 20. They threw in queso 2 quarts, 5 gallons tea, 5lb bag of ice, and all the cutlery plates and cups for 30. This was for our fellow ER ICU and med surg nurses as well as Dr NP and PA that flew in from NJ to relieve us. They came from St Josephs Catholic Hospital in NJ. These ladies perhaps had the best meal they ever tasted. The ate beyond seconds they ate 3rds lol.
Always get great customer service and the food is always tasty and always meets my expectations, yesterday I Tried "the border sampler " and it was awesome. Our server Megan was amazing and treated us nice and gave us suggestions on drinks and food and helped us to pick a dish on our cravings.
I have never been dissatisfied here; the food is really good. The fajitas are incredible I haven’t even ordered the fajitas, But I have had a chicken fajita taco and a beef fajita enchilada and the flavor is excellent, Prompting me to want to get them next time maybe.
Get the green sauce! Can get pretty busy on the weekends so have someone get there early to put your party's name on the list. Every single food item I've had...delicious. Love this place.
Go early or expect a long wait. The food is so good that the crowds come early. We had to wait for about 30 minutes before being seated. Service was great even though the place was jam packed. Food was very tasty and there was plenty of it. The Pacifico Shrimp was delicious as were the combination fajitas. Lots of variety on the menu and a full bar. Plenty of parking too.
Will definitely be back.
My gf and I went here for dinner and it was delicious. Tex mex place, I had the Diablo chicken fajitas and they were so good! It was chicken wrapped with bacon and it had cheese and jalapeños in the center. I'd highly recommend it. The queso was served in a chip bowl and I thought that was cool also. For two full dinners drinks and app I payed about $55 so it's decently priced. They also have a free ice cream machine! I'll definitely be going back.
Multiple Locations, Consistent Food. I think there are about 9 locations in Houston-Galveston area of this family owned chain. I have eaten at only 3, but the food has been consistently good.
The Texas City store is clean & festive. My new favorite combination dinner is Plato Mariachi: 2 chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce; 2 southwest egg rolls; 2 beef empanadas. Sides are rice and excellent borracho beans. A lot of delicious food for under $10, making this a budget friendly, family friendly destination.
The waitstaff is attentive, even though the girl that seated me was wearing black eyeshadow. The food is ok, not the best, but not the worst either.
I've been going here since 1999. I could eat here literally everyday. If anyone bad mouth's Gringos they must've gotten the wrong thing!!! Definitely the BEST thing on their menu is the Pollo Marisco (I get it with steak instead of chicken) it is to DIE FOR! If you want a lighter meal, the Fajita Nachos and the Fajita Salad(I get beef and chicken there's more meat that way) is so awesome!!! I love this place so much!
Excellent and friendly service, short wait on a Saturday night, good food and great margarita's.
Average texmex for the masses. Nothing inventive but nothing terrible either. Certainly noft worth waiting for.
Best TEXMEX ever.. This place is my FAVORITE. I love, love, love their green sauce! It's the furthest thing from true Mexican food but if you're looking for TEXMEX, go here! You won't be disappointed :)
Chicken tortilla soup was delicious!! Amazing chips and hot sauce too... Not sure I'll have room for the free ice cream haha.
Wonderful food. Love the free soft serve for dessert. Wish the queso was thicker and in a bigger bowl.
I love Gringo's! The prices are affordable, and the food is delicious!! I adore the "Pollo Tampico". The chicken. Is very moist, and the sour cream sauce is almost to die for! The wait-staff is very quick and efficient! 5 stars!
Just ate there about an hour ago. Juan was my server. He was awesome. Very knowledgeable about the menu and what was on the different dinners and even how they were prepared. I was probably a little needy, but he kept a huge smile on his face the entire time. I ended up with the taco plate and it was very good. Margarita was very good as well. Unfortunately I live in Ft. Worth so I can’t frequent Gringos very often. But this is my go to when I stay overnight in Texas City the night before my cruise. Thanks for the great experience Juan.
Fast service. The food was good. Really fresh tortillas. The Pollo El Dorado was great!

Kadence was awesome and personable. If you go in I would absolutely recommend him by request. I will be. Food was great. Never had to ask for anything. He even caught we got a basket of broken chips and brought us another one beforehand we realized it.
Sadly, I had to reserve a star on account of a slow bar. Drinks were good, but took a while to make it to us.
Edit*
Gave this place a 2nd try and they redeemed themselves a bit. I loved my shrimp meal. My son said his nachos were ok.
Got the rib eye street tacos. Very dry meat and oily tortillas. Definitely needed to be soaked in a sauce and then put on the tortilla. They did give a little cup of salsa but not the same. Our waiter was great though 🤷🏽♀️
The food was great. They were really busy, and renovations were going on as well. We were served 3 bowls of chips waiting on the food to be served.
Even tho the place was under construction at the moment of visit. Service was great! Food was good also!

Service was great the restaurant is under construction and a giant wall to contain it made it quite interesting and the food was Gringos.
The manager took our server from our table, and she kind of never came back, but overall friendly service as far as the staff , and fresh food.
The food is always good here. The waitress was so nice and quick with everything. Took us less time to get our food than it did for us to get seated. We tipped her well and she was so happy because right before us, she waited on a table with 8 people that were there for hours and didn't leave a tip. I hate when good service isn't rewarded.
I came from Chicago to spend time with my daughter and family in gavelston. I was told this place is amazing so we came here to eat dinner. I have to say this place is amazing, what a great experience, Krystal did such and amazing job always making sure she was so attentive, always checking in on us. I asked for extra spicy sauce and I loved it so spicy! Oh yeah! The chips and salsa were great love the avocado dip and the spicy salsa, nice and hot! Once we got our food I was so pleased this was so delicious and filling! After you eat you get such a great treat you get a free ice cream cone oh yeah!! You definitely need to come eat here!
We ordered three family meals for my sons' birthday after church! Picked it up and it was ready on time! Food was great! Loved that the chips came with red and green sauce and queso! Guacamole was amazing with the fajitas too! Highly recommended. Thank you Gringos!
Food was good and the staff tried as best as they could but they looked under staffed. The staff always seems frustrated but at least the food is flavorful. The green sauce hits hard and marisco bowl is my go to item.
Excellent every single time I never have an issue at this place the food is always wonderful. I can never get enough of it we go just about every time we make it down that way.
My wife had the soldier plate. It has just about everything that you can think of on one plate and she loves it.
I get the seafood enchiladas. Everything inside is wonderful of the enchilada. The sauce is the best part in my opinion I can still taste it now.
I would always recommend getting them when they first open at 11 most the time you’ll always find a table every time.
