Frates Drive In restaurant has fabulous food and it looks fantastic. The building and the grounds are sparkling clean and the fiberglass cows, Elvis and the classic Bel-Air on the side of the building brings you back to the 50's! The outside seating is nice, the picnic tables are very nice and with the plastic shades down, it makes it comfortable on a cool night. The food is excellent! Our group of 8 people had clam chowder, lobster rolls (with mayo or melted butter on the side), fried clams, fisherman's platter (huge!), and a burger (the Big Bopper) and all were fabulous! For dessert, soft serve ice cream and a frappe were big hits. The selection of soft serve and hard serve ice cream is varied and looked great but most of us were too full from our meals to indulge! Great place and we will return.
We were visiting family in the area this summer and probably ate here 5-6 times. Clam strips are amazing! Lobster rolls are to die for. Highly recommend Frate’s to anyone.
Their burgers are great! Fresh flavorful and juicy, the Serive is excellent, they are fast and efficient. Frates has every kind of ice cream flavor and toppings you could want. Great place for kids and families. I'll defiantly be back!
Had licorice ice cream last night who knew there was such a flavor will have it again was so good awesome place friendly servers
Wow...What a nice surprise...Everything you see has been done over to perfection, even the tables outside. It's immaculate here.
The Staff even seems like they were trained by experts in "Best in Class" customer service. They were also very attractive in their new Tee Shirts in all different boho colors.

The service was smooth and seamless, even with the crowds waiting on this first day of beautiful weather of this season. It didn't seem long before our delicious food out and ready to go.

We had three people in our party.
Can be somewhat pricey for a larger family to go to for a meal and dessert but at this point in our times with inflation all around it's more of a treat out. Rubin grill was pretty tasty ( could have had a bit more sauerkraut on it and pastrami) Frappes we're great and fries were hot. 👍👍
I came here on Mother's Day. It was a fantastic experience. They serve excellent meals and have music while dining under the canopy. Overall, a 10/10. I'd eat here again! Craig, the restaurant's owner, was even generous enough to give us complimentary meals! Excellent dining establishment.
Tried the lobster roll and chili fries. Both were on point.
Quality lobster meat used in the lobster roll; not cheap but you do get what you pay for.
Many things in the menu look delicious. Everything from the burgers, sandwiches, and huge ice cream selection will definitely have me coming back to try.
Love when they are open. Typical American Drive In food! Yes I did indulge in the chili cheese dog, the ice cream is always great and my sister splurged for the lobstah roll but it was packed with meat! 🦞
The quality of the food is excellent but the portion is low. There is other seafood places but this place the food is the best. It also has burgers, ice cream etc.
