I go 2-3 times a week. I go to Song's several times a week. Where else can you get Sushi, hot 'n sour soup, and Shanghi chicken all for lunch. The $6 special is great, comes with a medium portion of food, rice, soup, and egg roll. They also have Thai curry as well which is pretty darn good. For vegetarians they have plates like Shitaki mushroom and baby bok choy. They introduce a new special about twice a month as well. The down side is they won't allow you to order half-portions. Song and his wife are two of the kindest people in all of Taos. The service can be up and down, since its a good place it can get busy in a hurry - I try to go during non-peak hours (2-4). Their help often comes from a temp. agency. I've asked about hiring more locally but since the chefs only speak Chinese, the wait staff must speak both Chinese and English so as to translate. I did wait a half hour at pizza hut for a pie that never appeared.. we left and went to Song's and the waiter sang the same song for our table in Cantonese, Japanese, and English. That was a good day. In China, everyone has lots of time, but here, "time is money." I think the service is working hard to catch up to American standards. You will never be knowingly overcharged here - mistakes do happen to anyone who waits tables, but they are just that, mistakes. Corruption abroad is one of the reasons good people like Song come to the US. I went to a birthday dinner at Songs and they brought out free green tea ice cream and sweet sesame rolls for everyone. Sushi at al Hatori is good but we spent $95 for three. I've looked at Sushi at Smiths/Kroger - take a minute to read the ingredient list, Maldextrose... etc. etc.. plus its pricey and no one made it by hand just for you. Plus Song's is open every day except Sunday afternoon.. and you can place orders to go. So yes, this is one of my favorite restaurants.

Sesame Chicken. The sesame chicken was delicious -- crispy, not too sweet, and with great sesame flavor.

Wider Variety, Good Food. I was impressed at the variety on the menu at Songs. You can find Chinese-American classics, Vietnamese Pho, and Sushi all under the same roof. And while that might seem conflicting to execute well, Songs delivers great tasting food at a very reasonable price.

Song’s very much exceeded my expectations. Large portions, super flavorful food, lots of vegetarian and vegan options, and the owner was lovely. Ordered the eggplant with garlic sauce, kung pao tofu and vegetable lo mein. All super tasty. The inside could use a bit of freshening up/modernizing, and the outside could use better signage (right now it just has a sign that says “Chinese restaurant”).

My family and I went to Song's Restaurant after a long day of road trip. We are not from the area, so we didn't know what to expect but I am so glad that we went there. The owner greeted us as we entered the restaurant, and she was so very sweet and patient the whole time. She was very friendly and made us feel so welcomed. She took time to explain what they had on the menu and patiently waited as we debated on what to order. We did a to go order. After we arrived at our hotel room and opened the food, we realized that she packed paper plates and few other things that we needed to comfortably eat at the hotel room. The food was delicious. Portion sizes were large. We had leftovers to eat the next day. We called the restaurant to thank her, but I think they may have been closed for the day as it was later in the evening. Thank you for the great experience, service, and food after a long tiring day!

This restaurant is just a basic building. The seating area is very plain. No asian decor. I think it's just the owners who run the restaurant. She was very nice and does have a good sense of humor. The food was very delicious and plenty. We did take-out as we were heading back to the cabin we rented and just wanted to eat and enjoy the evening.

The food had delish flavor. Everything was very tender. You could tell they take pride in their food. The one thing I did like but not for every restaurant. They served in to go containers. What an idea!!!! Don't let the outside be the judge!!!

Food is superb, authentic level of spice and flavor, exactly what i was hoping for. Thai curry was the real deal. I honestly liked the building and the inside, feels just right. Will miss this place after leaving Taos. Owners were super nice.

Hands down the best Chinese meal I’ve ever had. The service was excellent, great portions of food, great prices. They don’t have all the extra decorations and ambiance items most places have but with how great the food was that doesn’t matter to me. You can tell they are investing their money into quality fresh ingredients. I’d say the only downside is the only refill on my water happened after I had already eaten my meal. Otherwise, no complaints!

After a couple of pleasant, mexican-food-filled days, we decided to go for chinese food for a break. Songs seems to be a great go-to. Nothing fancy, but garanteed good homey chinese food. But most importantly, the owner (Connie?) is THE NICEST, SWEETEST HUMAN ON EARTH RIGHT NOW AND MUST BE PROTECTED AT ALL COSTS. She is the kindest person Ive ever met. When we opened our to-go bag of food we were surprised by some free dumplings. Our hearts melted. I wish her and her husband all the best.

Excellent service with top tier food! The building and decor are unremarkable, but the owner is wonderful and welcoming. The food was delicious and well prepared!
