We were not very familiar with Honduran cuisine, so we got dinner for two. It was a great combination of traditional Honduran dishes, and we got to try a little of everything. It was a great mixture of flavors, and we had plenty to take home. The prices are very reasonable and the service very friendly.
Delicious authentic Honduran food! Family owned. Beautiful new location! It's very clean, fresh and spacious. Lots of natural light, nice bathrooms, plenty of tables and chairs for big families.
I've been traveling to mainland Honduras for nearly 40 years, and my wife is Honduran. We had business in Tampa and I happened to find La Casa Catracha while searching the area we would be near. This place is authentic Honduran food from the mainland. It isn't island Honduran or Garífuna, this is what you would find in the true Spanish cities like Tegucigalpa, Chulateca, Danli or other inland areas. Everything tasted fresh and the portions are huge (I'm a big guy and six hours after eating, I am still stuffed but looking forward to the leftovers tomorrow). My wife had Enchaladas, while I had Patistas. They could have had a bit more spice but that is a personal choice and each table had both red and green El Yucateco picante sauce. My horchata was fresh, cold, and made from scratch. Service was excellent, friendly, engaging and attentive. Meal prices are in line with most chain places at $12-$18 but expect to get two meals due to portion size. When we are in Tampa again in a few months, we'll be going back.
This great little restaurant is located just a few miles from downtown Tampa. Convenient to the airport as well.
I was looking for some Spanish food today so I headed out in search of another great place. Lucky me, I found La Casa Catracha!
I started with the appetizer. Tacos De Pollo! They are made with a Honduran flair and tasted incredible. I finished things off with their Cuban sandwich. I am glad I did. It was incredible from the first bite. Hot, pressed, but not dry or flaky! Perfect!
For a relatively small place, the service was excellent. If and when they move to a bigger location I am certain that they will be blessed with a successful business. For now, their little restaurant is perfect for me.
Our first time here and definitely we are going to come back! Everything were excellent! We ordered the most popular plates to share: Honduras Plater or sampler, Sopa Marinera and Fried Snapper (Pargo rojo frito). Our waitress Giselle was amazing, kind and bring all our food on time. 100% recommended! Delicious and flavorful!
Come here today for the first time and food was delicious and the place was very clean .
Family run, authenic Honduras restaurant. English-speaking staff that offers great recommendations. Reasonable prices and large portions of food. Super clean restaurant, kitchen and bathroom areas. I would definitely come back here again. I got the "Yuca con Chicharrón" for $10 and it was delicious and enough food for 2 people to share.

So yummy! Great service, friendly family dining.
The food was great. Very inviting for a small location. The staff make you feel welcomed and as a person from out of state that meant a lot.
Great food! Great staff! Tampa hidden gem 💎
