Bon Zanmi

One of the best if not the best Haitian restaurants in Tampa hands down! Some of the best cooking you’ll find in town. I had ordered the legume which was put to perfection. The rice was fresh and good with the sauce paw tasting very rich that blended well with the mixed delicious flavors in the legume! Also they aren’t stingy with giving you meat in the legume! I also ordered the fried turkey and plantains with pikliz’s. The fried turkey was seasoned and cooked so well! Turkey wasn’t dry and was very rich. The plantains were sweet and tasted great with the spicy hot pikliz’s which also were cooked correctly! I also ordered a patte and they didn’t disappoint with that either so good! Loved everything about the true Haitian culture put to perfection when eating here at Bon Zanmi! I’d say here and Kreyol Delight are the two spots to try when going for Haitian food.

My first visit yesterday (10/16/21) at Bon Zanmi was a great experience. The service was impeccable. I had a griot which was delicious well prepared and cooked. The portion was plenty for one person. I brought a friend who never had Haitian food before and she was impressed. Yes, I will go back and also referred them to family and friends. I gave a 4 stars out of 5 due to the fact I believe more could be done to the restaurant to make it more representable and the menu was not complete. I hope in the future to see these two above issues acknowledged, so I can bring more friends with me. Kudos to the gentleman that had served us. Five stars from me and my friend to him!

I ordered take out from here once. I appreciated the service. (Ie; Let me know BEFORE I ordered that they were having a system issue and could only accept cash, were open during the hours displayed online and the person on the phone was courteous). I ordered legume and turkey Tassot. I’ve ordered from a few different Haitian restaurants in the Tampa Bay Area & their legume was one of THEE best. I really liked the quality of the rice as well. All around pretty good. Looking forward to trying other dishes from here.

I had the please of dining at this establishment over the weekend 2 times. Greeted & served by someone part of the kitchen staff. The food reminded me of how my grandmother used to cook back home in Haiti. Got check on every 7-10 minutes. The food came out pretty fast. Plating was very elegant. Above all the experience was pleasing. Came back the next day and welcomed to the same experience. I would recommend this restaurant to Haitians, but more over to those who would love to try HAitian cuisine for the first time. You will not be disappointed.
