New Moon Natural Foods-tahoe City

What a wonderful place to shop. The employees are very friendly and helpful. All the produce looks and taste delicious. There are picnic tables off to one side of the building to sit, eat and visit with nice umbrellas too. The store is clean and items are easy to find. Forgot photos, next time. I will be returning!!

I love the vibe this little shop has and the Uncommon Kitchen they have inside is such a good idea. New Moon has a wide selection of groceries from fresh organic produce, sprouted nuts/seeds, vegan desserts like cookies/ice cream, fresh ground nut butter, and more. Like others have written, a bit more expensive but that's for supporting local businesses and I'm all for it. Reason for the 4 star: uncommon kitchen uses preservatives like sodium metabisulfite and citric acid in nearly all the refrigerated food that they prepare, why?! If it's prepared fresh daily, it should just be whole ingredients. Was heart broken! Love the shop's energy and selection (aside from those pre-packed preservative meals - hope that changes!)

Best little market around. Healthy food, good grab n go house made lunch & takeout items (my favorite is sushi roll #1, the bake-at-home pizza dough, and the vegan tapioca coconut pudding). Also they have a great craft beer, wine, & non-alcoholic beverage selection. I pickup my Mountain Bounty CSA here every Thursday afternoon (on the left in photo), and fill in the rest of what I need in the store (they give away boxes in case you forget to bring your own bags). Staff are awesome, great vibe and very helpful. Favorite store on the West Shore.

I love this store! Bread and produce are top notch! But the staff, wow, incredible!! Brittany and Kristy are the most professional grocery store staff this side of the Mississippi!! Unbelievable product knowledge. They walk the walk and talk the talk! Stunning shelf stocking performance every time I'm in the store. Can't forget about Cassie: she's a lightning rod of speed at the checkout stand. I leave the store every time filled with Bliss and a feeling of oneness with the universe and staff. This is America's Grocery Store. Let God bless it.

Wow! Even Better than last time I was in. This Grocery Store is the best in Tahoe City. They recently expanded the produce and beer section and now have the whole downstairs of the building! Great selection now always had amazing quality. Not to mention Uncommon Kitchen the midweek only locals secret dining place. Shhh.
