Sam's Southern Eatery

This is a much needed place in Tahlequah. The fish and shrimp are top notch and made fresh to order. I also enjoyed their red rice and beans. I did have to wait about a half hour for my order, but the owner was very kind and explained that many of employees are new. A little kindness goes a long way! Recommended.

Well everything was cool till a big table came in. I tried multiple times to get our waitresses attention but no luck.I got another employees attention she let our waitress know we needed her attention and she yelled at me. I tipped her $5.00 but she didnt deserve it. Food was good but rest assured if we go back she won't be waiting on us. You get one chance to make a good impression and this was our first visit

The food is pretty good but on the pricy side. I would have been more likely to have given another star if I had driven through instead of eating in. The inside of the building isn't very appetizing and the wait staff was inexperienced at best. Their red-beans-and-rice, grilled shrimp, and grilled fish were the bright spots, as they were very good. The fried shrimp and chicken strips were decent but not any more so than other places. I may get take out from there in the future, but probably won't be eating in again.

Very delicious! I had the # 20 - 12 pc grilled jumbo shrimp with green beans and red beans with rice. My mom had the # 6 - fried shrimp Po Boy with Red beans and rice. Both meals were wonderful, cooked fresh as we waited. I also ordered the fried green tomatoes (Appetizer). It came with like 15 slices, piping hot, and a side of ranch😋

I've only been once so I have not tried a lot. The french fries are pretty much the same as everyone else's. Onion rings are good, so are the fried green tomatoes. I had the chicken livers and gizzards. The gizzards were small and not nearly as tasty as Charlie's Chicken but the livers were great. The chicken livers are always so dry at Charlie's Chicken and they most definitely are not at Sam's. The coleslaw was good, sweet and creamy. They have fried oysters, too, which I was told were good. It is nice that they have things on their menu that you can't get anywhere else around here in little old Tahlequah. And you will not go hungry; they give you plenty of food. It is worth checking out.
