Had the best time sitting at the bar tonight with a friend. Amazing service, amazing happy hour drinks and seafood. Will for sure be back during happy hour!

Happy hour drinks and food were SO good. The York surprisingly has plenty of affordable options for both (during happy hour, before 7 most nights). The hostess wasn't the most personable, but we were taken care of quickly. There was a wait for tables without a reservation so we grabbed seats at the bar. Behind the bar, Lauren really took care of us- delicious drinks and great service our entire time there (even while training a new bartender). Didn't love the low key club music, otherwise the atmosphere was great and we had such a fun time. Already planning our next night out for happy hour oysters again. Can recommend those along with the poutine and spinach flat bread, as well as the 'sink or swim' and the incredible dessert coffee to drink. One of our absolute best experiences in Syracuse.

New review: they have improved a lot and I’ve enjoyed it the last few times I came here with my friend. Love the CBR flatbread - so good and the bone marrow!! can’t stop thinking about them. it’s so good!! Tried their seafood towers and it could be better to be honest. The servers I got for this visit and my last two were all so nice and helpful! The first time I came here, the drinks the food everything was immaculate. I got margaritas off the happy hour menu and chicken riggies for my entree which was so delicious. We had a couple of appetizers - nachos and crab ragoons. The nachos were delicious however the crab ragoons was too fishy. Imitation crab meat shouldn’t be that fishy tasting. It was still good though. My boyfriend and his friend got their steak which looked delicious. The second time was last night and we aren’t sure if we will come back here again unless it’s for drinks and appetizers. My boyfriend and I decided to try something new off the menu. First, their espresso martinis are delicious. We decided to try their rigatoni and cast iron meatballs pasta for the entree. First of all this plate was HUGE. There was 95% pasta and 5% meatballs. When I say 5%, literally we only had three meatballs on our dish. They should’ve had a disclaimer because I wouldn’t ordered something else.. see if this was in a more reasonable sized plate with perfect portion of pasta and three BIG meatballs it’d be different. We were truly disappointed. Also we got their Garonzola Fondue - the chips were good but the fondue had no flavor. very disappointed at our experience the second time around.

An outgoing staff from our hotel, the Skyler, who is a server at the York recommend we give it a try. Gorgeous place, all staff were flawlessly friendly and professional. Food was very well done. One of the best Caesar salads I've ever had, and an exceptionally well made Manhattan. I'll definitely be returning.

I love the ambiance of the place, it’s very elegant and classy and the dishes I’ve had are quite good. But I came here specifically to shout out a specific member of the staff. I didn’t get her name but the gorgeous blond hostess that assisted me and my friend today was absolutely amazing. She went out of her way to help us, charged my friends phone in the back room and even went back to put the phone in low power mode and again to switch her phone out with mine when asked lol. Her customer service was just above and beyond and she did it all with a smile and was super kind :)

I made 630pm reservations for my friends birthday dinner on a Wednesday evening. My friend arrived a few minutes early and was able to order a bottle of Prosecco for her celebratory dinner with ease, the bar was not crowded at all. We surveyed the scene and there was an open table in the front room right by the windows with a view of the outdoor seating and city street. We both liked the upbeat atmosphere of the bar area over the more intimate ambiance of the dining room. Do get at least a glimpse of the plant wall though if you are not eating in the dining room, unfortunately I was not able to take a picture as a large table was dining there. The hostess very pleasantly checked with wait staff and was able to accommodate our request to seat at the adorable table by front window. She placed our bottle on the table and promptly were served waters and complimentary pickles. I have not seen that before interesting, I am not a pickle connoisseur but apparently there are two varieties and one on the more zesty side. We ordered Crab Rangoons which were half priced as part of the 5pm-7pm happy hour special. They were tasty! We shared a wedge salad as well, you can never go wrong with the wedge, yum! I had the Linguine Catalan that was packed with fresh clams, shrimp, Chorizo in a white wine garlic butter sauce. This dish definitely packs a spicy kick which I love. It did not keep well as leftovers so maybe lay off the appetizers or share dishes. My friend had the short rib Ravioli in a Bordelaise sauce and served with Wild Mushrooms. She enjoyed her entree as well. We would normally skip dessert but not for a Birthday dinner. My friend chose the Brownie Sundae that was served with the sparkler. Service was prompt and friendly, we will definitely be back to try other dishes. Happy hour would be a great time to go for an inexpensive treat. I almost forgot I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the check at how reasonable the prices were for all this food! It was quite a bit less than what I expected for a trendy dining spot!

Great place to get a variety of drinks, good food, great oysters and both spicy and dill pickles while you wait. Reading the reviews, people are hilariously ridiculous - basing their review on someone else's opinions, upset that the food isn't of Michelin star quality (while paying Syracuse prices), or just small portions. Every time I've come out of here, I'm stuffed. The only thing I don't like is that it's a bar, and when I go in, people are dressed like they are at the country club. The decor of the place is great and so they do match that, but I'm not a big fan.

Yesterday, I came to Syracuse from Buffalo. Me and my friend wanted to grab craft cocktails and some grub. We came too The York and I have to say, having traveled to NYC, LA, Miami, Vegas etc. and being a bartender for 10 years, I really liked the atmosphere the restaurant bar lounge gave off. Me and my friend ate on the patio, and it definitely gave off alley NYC vibes and was really distinctive. We had Savannah as our server and she was really sweet, attentive and great to talk too. I really enjoyed that experience and drank the Sippin' Pretty and We Bleed Orange as well as ate the Filet Mignon. Next time I come to Syracuse, I definitely will be returning and recommending you guys to my sphere of influence. Thank you! :)

My wife and I had an incredible experience! If you're looking for a nice night out for an elegant meal, this is THE SPOT. The complimentary pickles to the table were a neat touch: I Loved the spicy siriacha pickles.
