Whenever I'm in town, I always hit up Joey's for "date night" bananas foster, flambé'd tableside, of course! They say the dessert is for two, but it's definitely big enough to share at a table of four. For menu items, I recommend the oven fresh bread, riggies, stuffed mushrooms, lasagna, and Moscato as Italian favorites.

Had an early dinner here last night. It was absolutely fantastic. I had chicken francaisse and it was the perfect combination of buttery and lemony. I ate extra slow just to savor every bite. Just divine. Also excellent was the mozzarella fritte appetizer, and the warm crusty Italian bread. Can't wait to go back!

A very nice interior to a Italian restaurant on the outskirts or Syracuse. The decor is very welcoming. Upstairs is more casual, while the lower portion is a finer dining experience. The food is above average for Syracuse places, since there are vast amounts of Italian spots here. The chicken parm was cooked nicely, crispy , but a tad dry around the edges. The sauce was great, but the parm lacked gooey cheese. The Chicken Riggies was spot on. All steaks cooked to order, and the sides were good. The mozzarella appetizer was a little undercooked, the cheese was solid and not gooey. The calamari was cooked exceptionally well, lightly fried and not chewy. The bread basket was amazing! Over all, not the best Syracuse has to offer, but a place to should visit.

Really nice evening. Service was great, place was beautiful and the food was delicious. We had a table in one of the curtained off areas. We felt like vip's. It was fun. Everything was immaculate from the linens to the silverware. The food was clearly fresh and made to order. Will definitely be going back. Originally, we had reservations at Joey's Pro to which is upstairs and a little less formal. We had a wait and had drinks at the bar and the hostess told us they had a cancelation downstairs in the formal dining room so we took it. So glad we did.

Exceptional Italian restaurant that I would highly recommend to anyone. Their fresh pastas and appetizers were amazing. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere balances reserved and quiet with casual and fun all at the same time.

We ate at a high top table near the bar downstairs. What a great traditional Italian restaurant! Food, Service, and atmosphere is fantastic. You get all of this at very competitive price. This is a must stop and eat place in Syracuse….

My wife and went upstairs for the more casual dining experience. We enjoyed the atmosphere, and most especially the food. And I do not want to ding it to much because it was fairly busy night for the wait staff, but it took awhile for us to get seated and to order drinks and our dinner. But everything else was spectacular. It will be a spot we will remember if we ever make the trip back towards the east coast! Much love from the Buckeye/Hoosier states!

This has been one of the best experiences we’ve had here and we frequent Joey’s several times a year.. our waiter was named Corey and he was extremely attentive and paid attention to every detail. He’s a great waiter, easily one of the best in general not just at this restaurant. Our food was amazing as per usual, the highlights were the French onion soup and the stuffed chicken riggies. Definitely worth the trip!

Best Italian restaurant in Syracuse. As a lunch for two, try a large cold antipasto with tuna fish, Italian cold cuts, cheese, artichoke hearts, olives, pepperoncini, sliced hard-boiled eggs, and roasted red peppers on top of crisp lettuce with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Goes beautifully with their crusty white bread. If you're still hungry, add a bowl of minestrone soup. For dinner, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorites include Steak with Italian spices, Manicotti with a side of sausage, Chicken Riggies with vodka sauce, Chicken Francaise, and Chicken Marsala. The service is excellent. If you like to cook, pick up a signed copy of Joey's Italian cookbook while you're at the restaurant. UPDATE: The downstairs fine dining restaurant is no longer open for lunch. The hours are 4 to 9 p.m., closed Sundays. (The casual upstairs restaurant, Joey's Pronto, is open for lunch.) The cookbook is sold out, but is available at Amazon for $90, a considerable upcharge from the original price. But, with the great results I've had following the recipes, I still recommend it.

This restaurant is such a gem! Thank goodness we were able to find it on Google reviews. We came through East Syracuse a week earlier and endured the worst meal I’ve ever had- at Ruby Tuesday’s. On our way back through East Syracuse, we chose Joeys Italian restaurant. Wonderful! The classic dining room has the feel of an old exclusive dining room from the 1940s, but the table settings are completely modern and lovely. This restaurant offers table- side cooking and we ordered the Caesar salad. It was absolutely outstanding. The filet Milanese was done to perfection, as was my husbands shrimp special. Our server, Kathy, was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. If you’re ever in the Syracuse area and are looking for a place to eat, offering a unique dining experience, this is it!
