Mom's Restaurant

Called to get a take out order for lunch. This is definitely a breakfast place. Friendly staff, but the cheeseburgers were tasteless and the buns were so soggy - like a wet noodle. Also wasn’t told I had to pay with cash or check, so I had to leave to get cash, therefore making my food colder and soggier. Just wanted to let the masses know that this is probably a good breakfast place, but lunch? Look elsewhere

Stopped in here for lunch yesterday just after 1pm. We had never been here before so we figured we would give it a try. Small place with appx. 7 tables I believe. There were 3 tables seated including us so it wasn't busy from that aspect but it took a short while before we were waited on even with the other two tables having already been waited on. We found out that the delay was due to them being overwhelmed with "to go" orders and their server scheduled for the day had called off. While we were there the lady who was waiting the tables (I believe she was the owner?) got into a heated conversation with one of the elderly ladies at a table of 7 that we're there when we had a arrived. It was over the fact that they did not take credit/debit cards for payment and how the notice was posted on the door. The conversation made it awkward to be sitting in there and could have been handled much better but the lady was obviously frustrated with how the day was going. The food arrived with good to generous sized portions which was nice. We ordered steak with eggs, home fries and hash browns, a pancake and a half order of biscuits and gravy. Our steaks were ordered medium well and came out well done but it was ok. The home fries and hash browns were cooked enough. The biscuits and gravy were ok. The lady was friendly with us and did explain her frustration with the day which made us more understanding. I doubt we'll be back but it does seem to be a decent local place to eat at with affordable prices. Just keep in mind they take cash and local checks only.

Fantastic food, and wonderful service! Our food came quickly, and our coffee never got below half full. The wait staff was very friendly, despite it being pretty busy. Would definitely go back again. Addendum: they only take cash or check, but there’s a gas station just down the street that offers cash back.
