Gourmet Garden

We ordered online for our New Year's eve dinner and the food was ready for pickup as advertised. They had a great system where orders that were ready for pickup were staged by the last digit of our phone number for easy and quick retrieval. I did not have to wait and my order was quickly located and brought to me. We have all seen how inflation this year has made everything much more expensive and Gourmet Garden has surely had to raise their prices as well. I found the portion sizes to be the same as in the past and the prices were a tad too expensive for what we ordered. The food was not seasoned and it may have been an oversight due to the holiday rush, but the quality was still there as usual and as we like it.

We went for sushi with a group of friends. The food was average, nothing special. All appetizers overloaded with mayonnaise, not something we would like to eat. They use horrible plastic dishes and plates imitating crystal and china in a condition that lost its “appeal” long time ago. That alone ruins the whole experience. Buy cheap but decent dinnerware from nearby home goods or ikea. Don’t use something that turns people off!

We used delivery 95% —> Used to be the best in the area. Has steadily gone downhill over the past 4 yrs. Once ordered w/o mushrooms (we say we’re allergic) - came w/mushrooms. Regular and boneless Ribs always dry b/c they reheat too much. Takes way too long (probably more Covid related) and at times is not hot enough.
