We went on the last day of Houston Restaurant Week. Turquoise Grill is in the heart of Sugar Land's Town Center, just down from City Hall.
As we walked over, a line of people were posing on the front steps of City Hall. It must have been a human art display because it was dark when we walked back and they were all sitting with heads down in the same spots.
A lot of the shops were closed for Labor Day, but the restaurant had several tables of customers on the sidewalk patio. We chose to eat inside.
It's a pretty little restaurant. We hadn't been here in a while. Glad we came. My husband had the shrimp-topped Scottish Salmon with shrimp cocktail as appetizer and rice pudding for dessert. His salmon was perfectly grilled and the best I've tasted in years! The cocktail had five big, tender shrimp. The cinnamon-dusted rice pudding was fine, but would have looked nicer served in a little glass or ceramic bowl rather than a styrofoam cup.
My choice was the sampler appetizer, grilled lamb chops and baklava. I have to say that it was really, really good!
Hummus + falafel + quinoa tomatoes + baba ghanoush + dolmades + pita bread = happiness! I could have stopped eating after this platter and been fine. The smokiness of the baba ghanoush was wonderful.
The medium grilled lamb chops are pink inside and so tasty! There was plenty of mashed potatoes and just enough grilled vegetables. The only issue I had was that the baklava wasn't as light and crispy as I've had. It was a flat-ish healthy version, with no honey drizzle on top.
Overall, the exceptional entrees and my Mediterranean sampler made for a memorable dinner.
I ate a trio of appetizers: tabouleh, stuffed grape leaves and hummus, accompanied with tasty pita bread. All of the ingredients were noticeably fresh and carefully prepared. The waitstaff were so friendly! They even gave me complimentary baklava as I was paying my check. Really sweet people! I’m impressed!
We love to explore new restaurants and international cusine. We were amazed and delighted with the outstanding services provided at this restaurant. Turkish meal was so delicious, but the warm environment make this spot unique. My sister loved to expend her 28th birthday at Turquoise Grill & Bar. Thanks so much for the great service!
Great atmosphere with live band! Sitting on the deck is awesome during great TX weather! Prices are reasonable!
We actually had a steak pizza. It was absolutely delicious. The meat was cooked to perfection and was not chewy whatsoever. All the other ingredients together made it a very new and delicious pizza. I would recommend it highly. Very friendly staff and had upscale musical entertainment. Nice way to spend time together.
Really enjoyed my first time visit here yesterday. We got the veggie platter and the spicy sausage, both are deicidios. The owner was super friendly that he checked on us several times. We even got a little dessert surprise at the end! Very friendly and welcoming staff, great atmosphere and awesome food. Will definitely come back.
The food is amazing. However the owner is such a sweet an amazing guy! He made his rounds to every table during dinner time and was so nice with my family! He worked with us on the menu and suggested items to meet our taste. Such an awesome and welcoming environment here. Good vibes abide.
I love this place! The food is amazing and all homemade. Wide variety on the menu including vegan and gluten free options. My husband had the lasagna and he thought it was the best he had ever eaten. The chipotle hummus is a great way to begin your meal and end it with baklava!
we have been here for lunch a few times over the years. The owner has been there every time and has provided a personal touch. Overall food experience is pretty good, appeared fresh cooked to order. Overall opinion it is a great experience in Sugarland and will continue to return.
Turquoise Grill & Bar is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is superb, the atmosphere excellent, and the staff is wonderful! They catered our Christmas party and our employees raved about the food. We highly recommend you stop by and try the hummus, gyro, homemade pizza...well really anything here, you can't go wrong. You won't be disappointed! Jim is a Master in the kitchen!
