I had THE best breakfast this morning! Today I ate a butternut scramble that was as colorful as autumn leaves with melt in your mouth rich savory flavors!
Make a point to stop by for Breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I always find something new and delicious each time I go. (Which is saying a lot from a gluten-free, FODMAP diet restricted gal!)
We have never been disappointed at DLC! The food is always great---lots of variety and so delicious---and the staff is upbeat and helpful. Heading there right now, for a cozy supper on a very cold Friday night!
Went for lunch and enjoyed the place very much.
Well presented dishes with good portions.
Service is good, not crazy but good.
Fresh flavors and real eggs with omelettes.
Will Go Back.
Quiet spot to sit and have a coffee and snack.
The oatmeal raisin cookie was a bit dry but good.
They would not make an iced latte or iced cappuccino (odd) only offered hot-and it was 88 degrees outside-so I opened for the strawberry banana yogurt smoothie-which turned out to be a great option.
If I lived in the area I'd go there more often. This place has a likeable college cafe vibe. Breakfast sandwiches were tasty, as well as their coffee offerings. Their staff bring orders to your table, and they're all very friendly.
We brought our son here for breakfast as he just started at UConn. It is a nice large establishment, so much to choose from on the menu & service is quick. Everything we had was delicious. Would definitely go back again.
Tofu banh mi had a generous amount of tofu but unfortunately also contained some accidental chicken (or tuna?). As a vegan customer, not pleased with the cross contamination. Otherwise, excellent cafe with plenty of food and drink options for morning, afternoon, or evening. Comfy seating, friendly staff, and convenient location. Large iced coffee is LORGE!
Definitely a gem of a place in an area where there isn't much. Lots of flavorful options and quick service. I think I'm impressed mostly by seeing all young folks working behind the counter and in the kitchen. Things work so well, but I'm not sure who is in charge of the place. Whoever is in charge, it's working! I've gone at least once every time I'm in the area for a couple of days.
I visit the Dog Lane Café on a regular basis, and I really like it! Their chai lattes, smoothies, and sandwiches are all delicious, and the environment is warm and inviting. The pumpkin chai was not my favorite, and the prices are a tad steep, but I’d still recommend it.
Just had breakfast at this cafe after dropping a family member at UConn. The breakfast was good; this is not the first time eating there. You have to place the order and the staff will bring it to you. Breakfast is done at 12pm. I would definitely recommend this place .
Always a great place for breakfast or lunch, great service, great menu, bagel egg and cheese always a delicious. Lots of options. We make it a stop every time we visit UConn.

Always on the look out for interesting food offerings, I perused a menu I had seen before and was not finding anything I REALLY wanted! Until I saw the word, "NEW."
And there it was. Tofu Bahn Mi in tiny letters. The description? "Grilled tofu, sriracha mayo, pickled cucumber, carrots, onion, jalapenos, on a toasted ciabatta. Well, that sounds OKAY. But could you put a slice or two of the lox (salmon) on there, too? Of course they can! Because you can get what you want at Dog Lane Cafe!
Now don't "poo poo" the tofu. It is thick, creamy and nicely seasoned with all the other stuff surrounding it. The sriracha adds another flavor element. The jalapenos are understated and don't overpower the sandwich. The salmon on top was excellent. And the combination of it all is a winner. Hit the spot and exceeded my expectations.
Service is consistently friendly and friendly. Can't say that too often.
Snag one of these today. I may be dreaming about this sammie for days to come.
