Stop here to see if the had pozole, I ended getting pozole and menudo. Both had amazing flavor like my grama used to make. Definitely will be back to try more food
I am going to start off by saying that stockton has the most authentic Mexican meat markets from any of the cities close by (tracy, lathrop, lodi, Manteca etc.) When rating this one in particular I took off a star because of the terrible parking setup and the somewhat consistent mistakes that the butchers make. This meat market is found inside a mexican goods store that offers fresh produce ( such as ginger, garlic, cilantro, spinach etc), mexican ice Popsicles or paletas, mexican candy, over the counter Mexican medicines and teas, spices and fresh food. You won't be greeted upon entrance because it is super busy and if you're going directly to the meat section there isn't a sign or sticker on the ground to tell you where the line starts. If the butchers are busy cutting meat then you simply approach the glass counter and they will approach you with a friendly greeting or you can just get their attention and tell them what you're looking for they will eagerly help. If there's a lot of people by the glass then you wait behind anyone that's being helped and once they're done the butchers will approach you. The only issue I ever encountered is that you sometimes have to be specific on what you want or don't want such as in not wanting chicken that's already marinated or getting meat with fat taken out etc. The baked items or pan dulce offered here aren't that great, I find them too be too dry and flavorless so for this reason I would suggest going elsewhere for your mexican bread. The food offered is delicious but I haven't tried their fresh drinks. During precovid times, there was a section with tables where one could eat but that's not available at the time. The best thing out of any purchase here is that if you purchase $60 worth of meat you qualify for a free 1liter soda. If you sign up for their reward system, you get free items if you rack up enough points such as a fresh drink. The parking gets packed during the morning and mid afternoon and it's a mess at times because the side diagonal parking inside the small space given only works if the other drivers know how to park correctly otherwise your stuck waiting for that person to leave because your car will not be able to squeeze through such a small space.
Meat prices are decent. I buy the pulpa or bola meat often, and they are about $0.50-$1 cheaper to other carnicerias in Stockton. They serve hot food. Sundays are busy there. I tried the shrimp caldo today and it was made spicy. So me being a spicy lover it fit just well enough Chile for me and the flavor was great ! I didn't need to add anymore. I've also tried the BBQ grilled chicken half's there and with there homemade corn tortillas which were good. I love there homemade habanero salsa also. Overall great place, delicious food ! great customer service always and this is my go-to carnicerias in Stockton for sure !
Quality is always great,Fair prices, and excellent customer service! I also have tried hot food from here very delicious! And I want to add that they are closing at 8 for now but I believe it varies :)
A store that sells fresh meats, but doesn't stink, as one. They have delicious cooked food and an area to sit and enjoy it with freshly made tortillas. YUMMY !!!
